Monte Ferro Winery
Wine club members receive special discounts, free pre-release and library tastings, and free delivery in the Portland metro area. After many years in the corporate world living on three continents we "retired" to our original home in Oregon in the middle of the Willamette Valley in 2007.

We launched Monte Ferro in 2009 and are focused on the production of small quantities of well-made cool climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Oregon vineyards and full bodied Syrah from the warmer Columbia River Valley of Washington. It is our desire to marry the best fruit selected for "terroir" and sound agricultural practices with the skill of the best winemakers in Oregon to produce world class wines.
Services
We are producers of less than 500 cases of wine per year. This allows us to source the best fruit from select vineyards that are salmon safe and follow low impact viticultural practices. Our labels are vineyard specific to enable us to give credit where it is due. We are very thankful for Terry Brandborg who is our winemaker.
We feel fortunate to be able to source fruit from top quality vineyards that are dedicated to sound viticultural practices and are located in ideal sites for the production of cool climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. We work closely with Ron and Kevin Johnson at Dion Vineyards and have three back to back vintages from the same rows of old vine Chardonnay from their third generation vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains AVA.
We take pride in our wines which are made with attention to detail to be of exceptional quality and extraordinary value - great fruit, renowned winemaking, and reasonable pricing with one goal in mind - to bring bottled joy to your table. We hope you enjoy the experience of our wines as much as we have enjoyed bringing them to to you.
Club members receive special case discounts and free delivery for those in the metro Portland area in case quantities. Mixed cases of any of our wines qualify for the same benefits. A one case per year minimum is all that is required to join. Discounts for one case per year are 10%, two cases 15% and 3 cases or more 20%.

I was searching for wineries nearby and this place popped up on yelp. It's a small winery in someone's backyard that you would never expect in, driving up a windy hill in a neighborhood in lake O. It was by appointment only during Covid. Robert was very responsive through email when I made my reservation. We parked on the street and walked up to their house. Rang the doorbell as we did not know where the tasting area was(no answer and not marked). Go to the right side and walk up the pathway to their backyard (not marked). Our table and seats were reserved with a name tag and

What a hidden gem!

You've probably never been to a winery like this - wind to the end of a residential neighborhood in Lake O to get to the Ervin's wine tasting room and vineyard. Their magnificent home couples as a winery featuring stunning views of Lake Oswego and, if you're there on a clear day, Mount Hood. The gris had a nice, crisp, sweet finish, and the noir was ultra smooth with no bitter tannin taste. Highly recommend a visit!

Maybe you should try having more signs pointing towards the tasting room. Walked up the stairs from the road and had no idea where to go. Walked around for a bit and We ended up leaving since there was no one in site. And yes, we texted again of time since the website says call/text for appointment. The replay we got was "yes we are open."

Stumbled upon this little diamond in the rough. Great views, service, and pricing. The location is appointment only and a little small so call ahead to be sure there's room. Will definitely be back again.

This place has the best view in all of Portland. Even rivaling Pittock mansion. Perfect view of Mt Hood with Oswego lake underneath. Our host was delightful, friendly and fun. The wines were quite nice as well - I enjoyed the chardonnay and the older pinot noir most. The winery *does* require an appointment! This is not clear from the Yelp page - the winery website is very clear. (That said, we figured that out when we got there, called and got a 'timely' appointment...)

This is a hidden gem of a winery close to Portland and Lake Oswego. Very personalized tour of the grounds of a wonderful estate. The Pinot here is delicious. Not as light and delicate as most, which I really liked being a lover of big reds. Check this place out!!

We had a wonderful tasting experience at this lovely tasting room. We tasted an un-oaked Chardonnay that was very refreshing, as well as two Pinot Noirs. My friend and I both bought a bottle of the Pinot Noirs. All of the wines were delicious, and Bob (owner) served us outside on his patio with a breathtaking view. You need to make an appointment ahead of time (it's at their home), but Bob is very responsive to emails and we easily set ours up. It was well worth the visit!

My friends and I found this winery on Yelp as it was the closest to the city and looked pretty. What a find! The owner Bob and his wife took great care of us and we're super accommodating. The winery is actually their house, a beautiful home with the most breathtaking view! The unoaked Chardonnay was one of the best Chardonnays I've had to date and the Pinot noir had great body and depth. Highly recommend a visit!

We were introduced to this local wine by some friends a couple years ago. This winery does it right by keeping things simple. Each of the varietals and vintages we have tried have been great. This has been a go-to bottle for us when we go over to friends' homes for dinner.
