Investing truly is a narrow path. At Derbend Asset Management, we believe in this idea-so much so that we named our company after it. Derbend is the name of a village tucked away near the highest point of the Caucasus Mountains in Dagestan, a region in southern Russia. It was from this village that the legendary Murid warrior, Shamyl, fought for decades to protect his people from the Russian Czar's troops in the 1800's.
