Setting up chairs for a beautiful wedding this day was more fun than work. If it's a corporate party or private wedding, it's always satisfying to setup tents, tables and chairs at the Yacht Club.

Been a member for 7.5 years and counting.
Clubhouse and amenities are exclusive and Everything is Very well-kept. Club members Are very friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. The marina is easy to maneuver in, out and around even in a 56’ Viking vessel. You get what you pay for here.

Food a disappointment, surely not
what one would expect from this storied place. Strawberry parfait was dollop of yogurt with a sliced strawberry on top. Had to ask for coffee after meal ended with none
offered. Got a half cup. The finale was the curdled cream!

Beautiful place, unfortunately, they were preparing for a swim meet while we were there for a couple days so the pool and restaurants were closed (staff seemed a little overwhelmed because of this as well).

I was sailing through Lake St. Clair and a dangerous storm rolled in and a tornado watch was issued. I called to ask for a transient slip which they initially granted but after asking management the offer was revoked leaving me alone in a dangerous storm. Un-ethical, Un-acceptable and un-believable. The man said a slip was available thus they simply decided to let me remain in great danger. The management should be ashamed of of themselves for there complete lack of character. Surely if you were in need you would appreciate the smallest of consideration. Disgraceful, do not give these people your

The staff is very personable and they give you an experience like no other. They host some amazing events and Mothers day brunch. They offer a amazing Adult learn to sail program that gives you some great tips to use.

This place is always decorated so beautifully. Make sure you visit the Marine activity center.
This is a wonderful club and very welcoming. You can always know your getting the full Grosse Pointe experience here.

Please note... you must be a member to get in. But if you already are you know exactly what I am talking about. From the service to the staff giving you a experience

We have been boating for many years, traveling to many yacht clubs around the Great Lakes. This gives me a bit of a different perspective of the facility.

The docks are difficult to access with a lot of current, only one staff member to assist us.

After a long day of sailing we went to take our showers. My husband had no issue, the men's locker room had four nice showers. The women's only two, one with a torn plastic curtain. I never did get to use the shower as it was filled with tweens washing each other's hair.

I asked if there were other facilities for dockers and was

Had dinner with some friends in the restaurant overlooking the pool and the marina. The food was very nice and the service quite good. Our friends were well known and many of the other Members who were dining came over to say hello to them. All were pleasant and asked if we were enjoying dinner and the views. Definitely would return if we were invited again.

Definitely not for weddings. Staff seemed clueless, broken glass on the dance floor was ignored then poorly cleaned. Venue treats vendors like crap.. would you like your photographer / videographer / DJ treated like second class ? These are just the people entrusted with your once in a lifetime memories!

The Grosse Pointe Yacht Club is one of the best kept secretes of the Metro Detroit area. Located on Lake St. Clair in beautiful Grosse Pointe Shores the Yacht Club is clearly visible when driving up Lakeshore Dr. from the other Grosse Pointe Communities. The Belle Tower is hard to miss from a distance and is a easy reference point for boaters on the lake to navigate back into shore. Amenities of the club, besides the marina itself, include a bowling alley open from September until May, several clay tennis courts, two lighted paddle tennis courts and a sailing center with a large fleet of club owned

One of my best friends was married at the GPYC, and there's a few things I thought about it.

First, yes, you really couldn't ask for a more elegant setting for a wedding... except for the surrounding dock. Of course this would seem obvious (since it is a Yacht Club... right?), but not until we were behind the building was it visually apparent that this gem was multi-tasking as both a marina AND a catering facility!

But still, there's a great arch on the dock where my friend and his wife had pictures taken; in the photos, it looked like they were out at sea, a really beautiful

Did you ever see the 'Curb' where Larry has to join a new country club? That's how it is when I am at the Yacht Club, dropping 'Ronald Reagan' in every sentence, but standing out like Methuselah. I've been to two weddings here, and was impressed both times by the picturesque views and the great service. The food was good, and the drinks were copious. Hoping to be back soon!

Gorgeous place. You have to be a member or be able to sneak in on a family member's name (as we do).

Weddings and special events here are beautiful. The Sunday brunch is a smorgasboard of deliciousness ranging from eggs to salmon to waffles to shrimp and crab to a whole room devoted to desserts. Dress codes are strictly enforced (no jeans, jackets required in the main ballroom). Prices are steep and all charges are added to the member's monthly bill.

In the summer the pool is an oasis, though a crowded one. The dress code for the outside bar and grill is obviously much more relaxed
