The owner told us it was a fishing lodge. When we got there he said he didn't like people using his dock and didn't want people bringing their own boats. Dockwas very flimsy and unstable. To charge our batteries we had to remove them from the boat. Owner has a very short temper and yellsat his customers. STAY AWAY!!!!

Stayed for a week and I can say the area is very nice. As was phil, but cabins were outdated, microwave barely worked if you needed it. Oven pilot light was dangerously big making the oven hot 24/7. Overpriced wood that did NOT burn well, for anyone that buys wood stop somewhere else on the way. There's a place down the road that sold half a cord for 30 bucks or you can buy 5 pieces for $6 at the camp. Overall the stay was okay, but not for the price!

Sherman’s Resort is the perfect up North getaway. It has everything you want for that U.P feeling. The cabins are perfect for a family of four . We enjoyed the beach with the kids as well as the peddle boat that came with the cabin. You can also rent a boat for fishing for the week if that’s your thing. My family and I was here not for the fishing but for that up north experience. We definitely got it all here at Sherman’s. Phil the owner was super nice and gave me tips on what was offered in the area for the kids. We loved every minute of our stay . We will definitely be coming back next

The owner, Phil, was great. He was friendly and knowledgeable about the fishing and the area. It was a very secluded and peaceful area. With the 4000 acre lake just a few steps away from our cabin we enjoyed fishing off the pontoon boat often. Several times in the early mornings we were the only boat on the lake. We also spent time just cruising around the lake on the pontoon. Other than the cabins being a little rundown it was a very enjoyable week.

Stayed August 2018 for a week camping in a tent on a lakeside site. The site was nice and shaded, and having electricity and water was great. Bathrooms and showers seemed nice and clean. Firewood and ice for sale onsite, not any more expensive than you would expect for a resort. Owner Phil is a really nice guy, and made sure we had a great stay. He let us pick our campsite since nobody else was staying, and told us all we needed to know about boating/fishing the lake. Would definitely camp here again if we came back to the area.

This was such a great experience staying here! Phil the owner was extremely accommodating, he was more than on top of everything he keeps the beach clean and his dog is so friendly and well trained and loved the kids. There was cable for rainy days and everything you could need inside of the cabin. The inside felt really at home! The stars were amazing and the atmosphere made you forget about everything! Plus it's a good location because everything was fairly close by :) definetly will be back next year!!!!!!

I always enjoy my time at Sherman's Resort and Campground. It is a quiet family friendly place with great fishing and amazing sunsets. My teenage daughter enjoyed the raft, ski do and volleyball. There was also a paddleboat that we took out and had a blast. We found it to be just the right mix of fun and relaxation.

My family and I planned to stay two weeks at Sherman's. After seeing the Chalet, we couldn't stay. The place was very dirty and the atmosphere was not rustic, just cheap and worn. Towels and toiletries not provided, only one coffee filter. Furnishings were dated and slovenly. Floors slanted. Owner was not hospitable but rather combative and unprofessional. Owner said, "It's the UP, what do you expect?" For over 100.00 per night, I expect a clean cabin at a minimum. We lost our deposit, but it was a small price to pay to avoid supporting this dive. I suggest you avoid this place.
