I went with a friend from Media tonight for a couple of beers each. While there were many options in Media for a drink, we decided to stop at Sligo to give them some business as we hadn't been there since early 2020 before the virus hit. We first looked at the draft beer menu, where most of the beers were 4.2% alcohol or so (e.g. less than a Bud), so we opted for bottled beers. While we did find a decent beer, not great, it turns out that each 11.2 oz bottle of an 8.5% beer ended up costing $9.50 plus tip.
I was wondering why the place was almost empty and now I know.
STAY AWAY!

We have always walked across Sligo but a couple of days ago we decided to try it out.
We were greeted by a Happy bartender and despite being a busy afternoon, our orders were on our tables in no time.
The food and drinks were spot on, the crowd was great and I our waitress was very pleasant.
Not expensive.
Overall it's a great bar/ restaurant to hang with your friends.

*Event space review, I have never dined here otherwise* This might be my forever event space!!! I don't know how I found this hidden gem but I'm glad I did and I absolutely love it. This place was not super expensive and the room did not need much decorations at all! The event coordinator was very responsive even though she was on vacay when I initially made my request. She was very patient with my silly questions and very accommodating to my last last minute changes!
When booking we booked for 30 ppl and approximately 20 showed up. We had more than enough food for our guests... We did

I just went to this place with a group of friends (all in our late 20's) and cannot believe the way we were treated. The waitress carded us as we sat at a table together then walked away for 10 mins. She then returns with the manager asking to see our IDs again and then they start quizzing us on our personal info. They threatened us by saying "the cops don't mess around with this." Never have experienced anything like this before and will never return, that was a terrible feeling.

You can count on Sligo for a great burger and beer. After studying abroad in Ireland, I was missing all the Irish beer I had grown to love. This place always has my go-to's on draft along with a pretty great rotating list. I LOVE their crab fries. I really enjoy coming here for an Eagles game and getting the crab fries and beer. They also have amazing burgers! I just got the BBQ burger for the first time and it was soooo good. Would highly recommend. Not sure why this place has such a low score. This has always been one of my favorite places to go to in media.

Went there for the second time in the past 7 months or so. Both times on weekends and both times there was a live jam band. This was a great addition as there is less and less live music these days. Drinks for reasonable- 9.75 for a Yuengling and a Guinness draft which is good. Very busy inside. We didn't have any food so I cannot comment on that but we enjoyed ourselves. 4 out of 5 stars because they try to pass off fake Red Bull in the soda gun for real Red Bull. I hate that. Just get the real stuff!

* last night of dining under the stars for the 2018 season
* hostess cheerful. Initial waitress luke warm
* our food was brought out by a different (brash) waitress and she was chewing
* I thought it was odd. I was suspicious but didn't question
* admittedly the food was tasty for burgers
* all is good--until--my daughter and I witnessed the brash waitress who brought our food to us (older, short, strawberry blonde/red hair) was eating off the plates that she picked up from the kitchen window!
* yuck...yuck...yuck!
* not only did we witness her eating off one of the plates but two!

I was with a group of friends in Media on a Saturday and got a recommendation from a friend to try this bar out. It wasn't too crowded, which I was surprised about but it also wasn't even 8 pm yet. More and more people filled in as time passed, but it never got too crowded. We stuck to beer and tried some that I haven't seen at other bars.
I went with the flight so I could get a taste of a few of the beers on tap. There was a short seasonal draft list for this sampler, so my mind was made up quickly. I really liked the wolf pup session IPA by Golden Road Brewing Co. I also

Allow me to preface this review by saying that I am very critical of places I eat at. When I saw the mixed reviews I was hesitant to try Sligo, but I am glad I did.
It seems a lot of the bad reviews on here and trip advisor are 1-3 years old, while most if the more recent ones are actualy quite good so it seems some staff changes may have been made because the food was slamming.
I had Shephards Pie which they prepare with lamb thankfully, my girlfriend had a reuben and we shared the seafood chowder. Both of us loved every bite, not a single complaint on the food at all.

Great place to stop for good food, great drinks and great conversation -- especially if you don't feel like going into Philly on a Saturday night.
Looking for a lively place to hang out with the flair of warmly toned traditional public house decor, then you've come to the right spot! If you plan on going on a night where there's live music or on Tuesday Night Trivia, make sure to arrive early!
Not sure what to order? You can't go wrong with the Sligo Burger with a side of fries.
Don't leave without trying either the Apple Sangria or Caramel Apple Martini. Trust me

Stopped in on a Sunday. Looks like a cool place but unfortunately in terms of executing the typical dining experience? It's not too cool. Ordered drinks and meal and after 30 minutes of being the only table ordering food, our drinks weren't refilled, our food wasn't brought out and the waitress was more interested in socializing than even checking on us. Very poor service. The waitress seems nice but in terms of actually doing her job? Awful.
Food was mediocre. They apparently scuttled the menu. Wouldn't go back, and honestly can't say you should even try it. Or you&apos

Somewhere between Meh and A-OK.
I attended a meeting here in the front bar area at the tables behind the bar.
Happy hour was ending so there were some luke-warm mozzarella sticks and dried out wings in a chafing dish. Yuck. (But free.)
The food I ordered (albeit a garden salad) was fresh but boring.
Others plates looked unappetizing - fish & chips was a huge piece of fish in a THICK coating of batter. (And chips which I don't eat).
Servers were pleasant and owner is a wonderful supporter of the community and my kid's school - but I am not impressed by the "classic"
