This is a question I get a lot. The short answer to this question is "No you don't need one." However one of the advantages of having one is to get a feel for your photographer and to be comfortable with him/her. If you decide to have one then you can choose the location! If you do not know a location when we can recommend two to three locations that are great for your engagement pictures which you will cherish for a lifetime!
I purchased the one hour session from Albert. From the beginning to end he was super awesome and very professional. He did everything possible to make sure my surprise proposal and our pictures were as perfect as can be. He is also prompt and works with you in order to figure out the best options with what we were given.

Albert did my engagement photos and my wedding photos. There wasn’t one single photo that we did not like! Besides the photos being perfect, Albert is professional. He is punctual, prepared, hilarious, and he makes the overall experience fun! He also has a great helper team! We will continue to recommend him and definitely use him in the future for other events!

Awesome photographer! Very personable and knows what he is doing. I'm not photogenic but Albert made me and my fiancé really comfortable. We are really not picture people but he made us really easy and we definitely recommend him for your photography needs. We hired him for our wedding and I'm sure those photos will be as great as our engagement ones!

I used A. Harris Photography for my surprise proposal at Harry Potter word, He did a fantastic job of staying out of sight when the question was being asked and capturing all of the right shots! He was also so great that he got us a private ride in the Hogwarts express where we took more photos! This guy is great! Highly recommend him. We are beyond happy with out pictures and how they turned out!

Albert is an excellent photographer who pays attention to detail! I can tell he has a lot of experience shooting many events and different kinds of weddings. I can tell he works around the clock to ensure I'm happy and his other clients happy. He was dedicated to me as I'm sure he was dedicated to everyone that has booked him. When you book a photographer keep in mind that he or she will be with you all day. Albert was with me the whole time and guided me to ensure my moments were captured. From the engagement shoot to the wedding day I was totally comfortable with him and his team.
