Services
Thomas A. Kuhns, Jr. founded West Interior Services Inc. in 1973. He chose to focus on furniture & woodwork refinishing and restoration because he always enjoyed and excelled at working with furniture, but didn't want to compete with his family's well established upholstery business. West Interior Services' first location was in West Tarentum, PA (hence the name West Interior Services) just Northeast of Pittsburgh, and employed only 2 craftsmen.

Servicing Religious Institutions began as a major part of West Interior Services in the fall of 1989. Our company was asked to provide refinishing & restoration services to 3 churches in Charleston, South Carolina in the aftermath of Hurricane Hugo. One of these churches was the landmark cathedral for the Episcopal Diocese in South Carolina.
