Cline Group was founded in 1990 to meet the needs of specialized Scuba Diving and tourism clients. According to company president William Cline, Cline Group is unique - we have had the pleasure and experience of working with a very diverse group of clients ranging from foreign governments to small start-ups.

We are set apart as our entire focus is on producing work that generates business - not awards. Each quarter, we send an email survey to the global dive industry and publish the results for free. We all need to know what's happening in our industry by region and business classification. This survey is free and the results will be sent as soon as enough responses are tabulated to allow for regional analysis.

William Cline has been collecting scuba diving research data from the industry and consumers at large for almost 30 years. Originally, scuba research was done as very little existed within the industry. Now, William Cline is recognized as the world authority on consumer and trade research within the recreational scuba industry.
CONTAINED within this section are various studies conducted by Cline Group that are for public release. These studies form the industry's first and only benchmarks for independent consumer and industry research. Cline Group is available for custom research projects and has conducted over 100 studies to date within the market for various clients.
The Chinese Dive market is emerging as one of the world leaders in growth for outbound scuba diving tourism. The largest dive resort in the world is located in Hainan Island, China. Vogue Diving employs up to 500 dive instructors, and conducts 2,500 resort or DSD courses each day. The Hawaiian Islands Recreational Scuba Association (HIRSA) needed to find out what impact scuba diving has on their economy. As a result, they turned William Cline to conduct their first scuba diving economic study for the State of Hawaii. The report, created and complied by William Cline of Cline Group, was a groundbreaking study for the state.
