Understanding how frightening and frustrating it can be to see a doctor, our goal is to make your experience as relaxing and pain free as possible in a timely manner. People with diabetic neuropathy in their feet may not be aware as to how much at risk their feet are. Custom fit orthotics are an individualized pair of shoe inserts, made from an image of each foot with specific added corrections.

First of all, don't panic. Doctors who treat wounds have an ever-increasing arsenal of techniques to encourage wounds to heal. Before you go to the doctor, however, you need to minimize the damage. Cleanse the area gently with water or saline solution. If it is really dirty, you may use soap, but only for this first time.
Active Foot and Ankle only uses the highest quality custom made orthotics. We do not believe in a generic once size fits all orthotic. Each foot is different and has different needs to make it operate in a proper and efficient manner. Take in mind the average person takes about 7500 steps a day that's 200 million steps in a lifetime.
According to the American Diabetes Association, about 15.7 million people (5.9 percent of the United States population) have diabetes. Nervous system damage (also called neuropathy) affects about 60 to 70 percent of people with diabetes and is a major complication that may cause diabetics to lose feeling in their feet or hands.

I have taken both of my sons to Dr. Holsopple and am always impressed. She was recently able to pinpoint the cause of my younger sons knee pain after several other Dr.s including specialists had given it up as a mystery. She and the other ladies there are very professional and always make my boys feel comfortable. Would definitely recommend this office to anyone who is in need of foot or ankle care.
