There are many elements to think about when deciding on inpatient bariatric surgery. Bariatric surgery is a tool that helps control appetite and reduces portion sizes. It is most effective when combined with dietary changes and exercise. This is not the easy way out and lifestyle changes have to be made to make change permanent.
In this procedure a band is placed on the upper portion of the stomach, this divides the stomach into two portions. The band slows the emptying of food into the lower portion of the stomach; this provides a feeling of fullness with a smaller amount of food while keeping one satisfied for a longer period.
The Gastric Bypass procedure is considered by many doctors to be the current "gold standard" procedure for weight loss surgery. It is the most frequently performed weight loss surgery in the United States. This procedure creates a small "pouch", about 1 oz in size while separating the lower part of the stomach and upper part of the small intestine by staples.
This procedure also restricts food intake. This procedure is gaining popularity among patients. Between 70-80% of the stomach is removed. The stomach takes the shape of a tube or "sleeve", it is similar in size and shape of a banana. The portion of the stomach is removed by stapling (as shown in the diagram).

NTMC in particular the women's center, went above and beyond meeting my husband and I’s expectations delivering our first born on Wednesday. Nurse Vanessa, was there every step of the way by guiding us and ensuring we understood everything happening and making sure we had more than enough information being discharged as first time parents. All L&D nurses and staff are fantastic, and we can’t thank you enough!

They got me back within 10min, did what they had to do and out the door right at an hour. Staff was wonderful. Only compliant is that I was put in the hallway right near the exit, so everyone that was leaving had to walk directly past me. I understand they were extremely busy, but maybe use a different hallway if possible.

We use NP Lauren Taylor. She was great! She listened to what my daughter had going on, answered any questions we had and quickly ordered the appropriate test. She followed up promptly and gave us the results. I would highly recommend using Lauren as your primary care provider. It is hard to find good ones these days! Also, Kelli at the front desk got us quickly scheduled, was very friendly and had benefits verified by the time we arrived.

I had cataract surgery here in mid November 2021. Dr Jolly is great, but I must tell you about the hospital staff and surgical staff. This was my first time to walk into this hospital. The beautiful outgoing redhead at the front desk made sure I took care of my paperwork and directed me where I was supposed to go. The two anesthesia people, nurses and every single person I came in contact with went above and beyond to make me feel important and cared for.
The hospital looks small compared to the huge hospitals I’ve been in previously. But I assure you that the staff is top notch and you will

I have recently given birth to me baby girl here! My husband and I loved our stay here. The Dr and all the nurses were absolutely the best, loving , supporting ,caring staff ever. They made us feel like family! They took great care of my sweet baby girl and I. I would love to thank Nurse Vanessa and Lisa for all they did for me. And the other nurses that I didn’t get there name. Will most definitely go back in the future for another delivery!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this hospital. The staff in imaging are very professional, courteous and quick. From the young ladies at the information desk to the gentleman I spoke with on the cleaning staff, (I am incredibly sorry if I mislabeled his role) are just GOOD PEOPLE. My kind of people. I hope I don't have to visit them again soon but would gladly. Thank you for treating and old veteran so well. Thanks again!
