Services
Even though our feet and ankles are arguably the hardest working parts of our body, and certainly take the most abuse, they are usually ignored until a problem occurs. At the San Diego Podiatry Group our Doctors and staff are devoted to the care and prevention of these problems. Our entire team sets the highest standards of excellence.
Each doctor at the San Diego Podiatry Group is professionally trained and fully qualified to provide a full array of podiatric services to help you achieve and maintain healthy feet. Some of the most common causes of foot and ankle pain are listed below. Visit that address for a virtual library of everything you could ever want to know about podiatric conditions.
Please note that we are having issues with Google and other navigation services providing accurate directions to the office. The best way to arrive for most people will be to take the Qualcomm exit off of Highway 8, take a right on Camino Del Rio North, then take a left into the parking lot after the post office.
Our four doctors have a great deal of training and experience in all aspects of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. We place specific emphasis on evaluating and accomodating abnormal foot mechanics, such as flat feet, high arch feet, bunions, hammer toe, etc. Each doctor focuses on getting you back to pain-free activity as quickly and easily as possible.
I received my training at Kaiser Hayward in Northern California under the guidance of some of the renowned leaders in my profession, and there I gained extensive exposure to essentially all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery. I then moved to San Diego to join the San Diego Podiatry Group because of their impeccable reputation and the exceptional weather here.

I booked an appointment to measure my feet and order the insoles for my flat foot.
before my appointment, I asked if:
1- my insurance would cover it
2- there is enough time to measure my feet and order insoles
they said yes to both
at the appointment day, doctor visited me, and said there is no time to measure and order insole and I need to come back again later. the secretory also mentioned, it is not covered by my insurance.
after two weeks, I received an invoice of $160. I called them several times, they said they will contact me, no one did ! and I finally I received a letter from debt

These people never called, never returned my appointment request, never answered their phone nor replied to their email. How do you expect to have customers if you don’t even answer or give appointments after submitting a request form. I would give you zero stars if I could. I went with South Bay podiatrist MUCH BETTER SERVICE AND CARE FOR NEW PATIENTS.

Super unprofessional etiquette. This was a
Doctors conversation outside of my open exam room door that made me incredibly uncomfortable.
Doctor 1: are you done for the day?
Doctor 2: Almost I have one more and I am
Doctor 1: anything interesting?
Doctor 2: no, just an ankle thing on a bipolar alcoholic. You know how some of these patients are.

I made a appointment and waited three weeks. I told them at the time I had Blue Shield PPO and they said great. I arrived at the office after waiting three weeks to be turned away because they said they don't take Blue Shield PPO covered California. Had this been disclosed at the time I booked the appointment. I would have gone somewhere that could help me. Bad Admin at this office

I was referred to Dr Cullen by a wound care specialist for what was probably a diabetic ulceration on the side of my foot just below where the little toe joins the foot. It was down to bone and would not close up. Even debriding and antibiotic inserts didn’t help. My two choices were amputation or trying to save my toe. I would NOT consider the first choice as I have enough trouble balancing with my bad feet.
I was told Dr Cullen would go the extra mile to try saving my toe surgically. I’m so happy I made that choice because the repair was successful… I still have my toe and no complications

I have been to this office one time and the communication with staff/personnel has been very frustrating to say the least. When an approval was denied by the insurance company, the doctor's staff insisted it is my responsibility to submit an appeal. The insurance company states the provider is the only person who can submit an appeal because he is the one who can submit justification for his recommendation. However, this Podiatry Group states they can not submit the appeal, they stated it is up to me, the patient to submit the appeal. Very disappointing to have wasted two months waiting

Dr. Ben Cullen and his staff were wonderful …checked out my big toe nail which I had “killed” on a hike eight months ago, but did not seem to be growing out…he did not suggest any treatment, but told me it would finally complete the new nail on its own! However, he did offer to remove the dead nail…and it now looks normal! If I ever have anything wrong with my feet, this office is where I will return.

I went here for heel pain and the doctor didn't even examine my feet. took one look then said "oh you need custom orthotics" lol that's how you know these podiatrists know nothing and just want your money. orthotics are a band aid to the real problem, not a long term solution. too bad podiatry doesn't use science to make their diagnosis :/

It was a very short appointment with no x-rays or scans to confirm the issue that I was describing with my foot. I got no new information I had not already read online on how to heal my plantarfiscitis. They gave me a walking boot and a night boot to help my foot pain, both of which did not fit properly. The night boot always fell off and I ended up buying one off Amazon for $25 which worked and fit much better and actually helped. My main frustration comes from them billing me once (which I paid immediately) and then I get a second bill for a higher amount. Anyway I feel like I wasted my time

Am very pleased with the friendly professionalism of this office in general and especially with the knowledge, warmth, and professionalism of Dr. Rice. I've got a huge bunion on my big toe as well as late stage osteoarthritis. Surgery is not an option (I'm an ancient great-grandmother) but she suggested silicon toe spacers and proper-fitting orthopedic shoes & slippers as management tools for these conditions. Everything feels better.

I received treatment for a foot callus which presented difficulties requiring several visits. Dr. Benjamin Mullen was very considerate of the constant pain I was experiencing and recommended a substantial adjustment in the brace I must wear on my foot. I followed his advice and am recovering nicely. The staff is, also, very professional and polite.

My experience w/Ryan Y. Lee was negative. Instead of posting publicly I believed it was be best to give San Diego Podiatry Group the opportunity to self correct internally & respond to my concerns. I waited three business days to give them the opportunity to contact me back but they have not done so. This further reflects the need for this situation to be addressed because I believe others need to be warned about Ryan's negligence to avoid them unnecessary pain & trauma as Ryan needs much improvement in being attentive to the clients needs.

I was lucky to have been referred to Dr. Brittany Rice. She listens and throughly explains everything. And trust me I can ask a lot of questions especially after I leave my appt. But she doesn't dismiss you and seems to truly care about you and makes sure you are recovering well. I had my bunion fixed ( Lapidus procedure ) and I'm happy I chose a doctor who does amazing work. I've seen really bad surgeries on my FB support groups and was scared. So for those who are looking for a surgeon for their bunions Dr. Rice is y'all girl. Plus she has amazing stitching skills.

A Follow up to the doctors office attempting to shake me down for a co pay when all I did was pick up my shoes. Now i received a co pay bill for ONE shoe and the other is covered. Prior to that I received an authorization for a surgery that was never requested nor needed.
Either they're gross incompetents or they're attempting to fabricate phony charges. BE CERTAIN TO CHECK YOUR CHARGES AND THEIR BILLING or better FIND A HONEST OFFICE.
BTW: Both shoes were covered and NO CO PAY DUE
