Services
There is a growing need for personal connection in today's world. In an age of cell phones, email and social networks, we are in touch with more people than ever but have fewer significant face-to-face relationships with others. In a society where we rush from one engagement to another, we rarely pause to smell the earth, soak in its colors, or feel the grass beneath our feet.
Camp Hanover is nestled on 600 acres on the outskirts of Mechanicsville, Virginia in Hanover County. Easily accessible from I-64 and I-295, Camp Hanover is an ideal location for retreats, gatherings and special events. Since 1957, Camp Hanover has existed to provide a place apart for renewal and growth in an environment of Christian hospitality.
Doug is passionate about Presbyterian camp ministry and brings with him a wealth of experience and creativity in his role as Executive Director. Doug is a communications graduate of Ithaca College, whose career path tended toward broadcast journalism and video production before following a call into full-time camp ministry within the Presbyterian Church in 1998.
Camp Hanover is truly a "place apart, " an incredible slice of God's creation, with nearly 600 acres of forest, field, farm, and lakefront. Environmental Stewardship is hardly a new idea here. And today, through the development of the GoodPastures program, it's becoming an even larger focus of our ministry.
Since 1957, Camp Hanover has offered Christian summer camps - both day and overnight programs - for elementary, middle and high school youth. That's more than 60 years of experience in providing dynamic, safe, and meaningful youth programming. When it comes to summer camp, we got this. It's what we do best.

Went for the hallowed harvest. It definitely was not worth the drive there or the money at all. Maybe for children 4 and under it would he fun but anything over that wouldn't be worth it. Spent $30 for a 15 min walk. On their website it says it's a 30 to 45 minute walk through. I thought we would at least see some cool carved pumpkins but they were all made of plastic.

I really wanted this to be a great experience for my kids but it just wasn’t. They spent too much time walking and transitioning between activities or just hanging out and doing things we could have done at home with them. Despite what the website says, they only did a few fun actual camp experiences. My boys never got to do the mudslide and only got to do archery on the last day because we called and talked to the director. They played one field game and did one craft the whole week (the finished craft product never even came home with my daughter). The Day Camp director listened well to us

This is such a good child hood memory. Great experience! Just wish they had financial aid so I could send my own child now to experience the same thing :)
