Under the leadership of Artistic Director Cassandra Crowley since 1981, Canton Ballet is now one of the foremost arts organizations in the state. An honor company in Regional Dance America since 1984, Canton Ballet has hosted three regional ballet festivals, and performed in the Young! Tanzsommer festival in Innsbruck, Austria four times.
With the School of Canton Ballet, a company of more than 35 pre-professional dancers, and an expansive repertoire, Canton Ballet is a highly regarded training ground for serious young people. Director Crowley continues to raise the artistic bar and each year strives to further enrich the school and the company technically, artistically and financially.

Services
Remember the rule for leaving rehearsal early for Homecoming, Prom, etc. You may be excused at 3 pm IF you have turned in a note a week before so that rehearsals can be arranged. If you want to get on the list to be allowed to take your mask off ONSTAGE ONLY during the Performance ONLY, bring your vaccination card or a photo of it into the office and show it to Cyndi.
Winter may be beautiful, but it sometimes can present travel issues for ticket holders. In the great tradition of the theater, the show does go on despite snow or wind or unsalted streets. The company, unfortunately, does not control the elements and is committed to honoring its performance calendar.
The School of Canton Ballet, under artistic and executive director Cassandra Crowley, works to instill in its students and pre-professional dancers an appreciation of the joy and satisfaction of a challenging job well done through age-appropriate training for toddlers through adults. The drive, determination and discipline remains throughout the students' lives regardless of their chosen fields.
Financial assistance, based upon need and merit, is available through the School of Canton Ballet Financial Assistance program, including the Kerri L. Hunter Memorial Minority Scholarship. We’ve been so pleased with our experience with canton ballet. We’ve participated in summer camps, pre-ballet, and elementary 1. Mrs. Grasse is a spectacular teacher. She has high expectations and teaches with such grace and poise. Our daughter has blossomed in her classes and it’s the highlight of her week. We couldn’t recommend the school more.
