Hi, We are Sherm and Rose. We are the owners of Stingray's Scuba School. Rose and I discovered our passion for Scuba Diving in 1993. Soon after certification We started going on dive trips to the Caribbean. Wow! the bright colors and natural beauty of the amazing underwater world. I became a Dive master in 1998, and started working with students.
In 2000 I became an Instructor and opened a business called Sherm's Diving Services llc, I contracted myself out teaching Scuba lessons to local Scuba shops, and the Naval Academy. Having fun with Sherm's Diving Services, we branched out In 2008 opening Stingray's Scuba School llc. Our business grew rapidly, and soon demanded more staff to keep up.

Note: I left the last full day open for our famous Fun Filled Activity Day! there are many to choose from including additional diving, activities and additional diving is NOT included in price. The open water course with Sherm was such a rewarding experience. He is exceptionally knowledgeable, talented, and easy to get along with. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and was always friendly.
He radiates comfort brought on by experience more so than other person I’ve met. It was very reassuring for this new diver.
I plan to take other courses/dives with this school in the future. I have only good things to say!

I couldn’t recommend Sherman enough. He wants to make you a competent and safe diver no matter the time taken to achieve that. He is patient and will work with you. No experience is needed and you will feel safe having him as your diving instructor. Trevor and I will continue to dive and learn from the best!

Sherman Is 100% the Guy you want to teach you SCUBA. He is the Yoda of Scuba Instructors. What I mean by that is Sherman in addition to being the most knowledgeable Scuba instructor in the Mid Atlantic. He has instructed other Scuba instructors. I took my time and researched all other Scuba shops in the MD DC VA area, and without a doubt, Stingray is your Best Value. Sherman also has an impressive network of other instructors who work for other shops. Sherman has been able to consistently get me in the water and certify Open water, Advanced Open water, and Peak Buoyancy. During the COVID - 19 Pandemic

Sherm was the most wonderful instructor! I had never done any sort of diving before and was a little nervous at first, but he does an excellent job of making you comfortable with the equipment and in the water. He gives great explanations, is very thorough, and takes everything at your own pace so that you never feel uncomfortable with any of the skills. Such an awesome experience taking lessons from him!

Sherm and his stingray team were so awesome! I highly recommend them to everyone who wants a personal one of a kind experience. They made me feel completely safe & comfortable during my learning experience so much that I will be going back to stingrays to continue my dive education. I have also had the pleasure to dive a few times with the team after becoming certified and always have a great time.
