We are just a couple of cruisers who live in a cruising community and enjoy creating innovative solutions to common cruising problems. Mantus Marine (formerly known as Mantus Anchor) was founded in 2012, but my venture started several years before in Cartagena, Colombia, half way through my 12-months sailing adventure in Latin America.
At the time, still a novice sailor, I quickly discovered how anxiety-provoking anchoring could be. I definitely had my share of close calls and nights spent awake in the cockpit frightened by the howling wind. Cold and drenched in rain I'd try to keep from hitting my neighbors. I grew frustrated that my 45 lbs CQR would often not set or would drag if the winds increased above 25 knots.

The Mantus anchor bow roller is designed to fit an anchor of any design and when combined with the anchor-mate, it provides an ultimate solution for anchor storage. Slotted delrin rollers designed to align the chain before it enters the windlass to avoid chain skipping. These guys are second to none. Best customer service EVER! Several weeks back the pad on our AnchorMate cracked in half. I called Mantus and they tell me they had identified that as a problem and were looking for a new vendor to supply the pad. They called me back a couple weeks later once a new supply was in and shipped me a replacement at no charge, no questions asked.
Today my wife was following up on a face mask order that was past due and called into Mantus customer service. They had experienced a computer crash and several orders had been delayed. These masks were for her elderly parents

Have bought a Mantus 21kgs (46lbs) this spring for my Searay 360 Sundancer (18,500lbs) have used it over several weekend trips and just returned from 2 weeks swinging on the hook, didn't tie up to a dock once. The Mantus Anchor has been great, spent 4 nights in one bay because of high winds, I've never had such peace while anchored overnight in windy conditions!! Sets easy in several different bottoms (Georgian Bay Canada) only problem, a lot of mud to wash off when it's pulled up! A sure sign it was well buried!
