Waste management might be an avoided business, but we're proud to get our hands dirty every day. In order to reduce the exposure of our employees and visitors, we ask that you maintain a distance of six feet from others when visiting and make every effort to limit your visits to once a week. We appreciate your cooperation as we take these precautions.
We use safe and reliable systems to convert trash into renewable energy shared directly to the grid, instead of a landfill. It's a complex process with a simple purpose: take an unavoidable byproduct of life and transform it into something that contributes positively to all future generations. By reducing landfill volumes and staying local to minimize pollution, we take care of today's problem today.

Services
Maine Waste to Energy provides reliable, safe, and economical waste processing and disposal services for members, associate towns, private haulers, and local citizens. Our advanced facility uses efficient combustion and air pollution control equipment to create clean, renewable energy from an unavoidable byproduct of life.
MWE seeks to provide efficient and environmentally sound disposal services for all its members and customers. This can only be accomplished by a communal effort to work together and follow facility rules. All rules are designed to help align operations to local and state mandates. Any infraction of these rules may result in a ban from the facility.
Maine Waste-to-Energy charges disposal or "tipping" fees which vary by origin and type of waste. Member rates are discounted based on investments made by their community. Acceptable waste generally includes municipal solid waste from residential or commercial sources with a total dimension of fewer than 3 feet.
We believe in addressing today's waste needs today for the sake of future generations. As Maine's waste to energy facility, we work diligently with mid-Maine communities to manage solid waste, minimize landfill volumes, and deliver a positive byproduct in the form of energy. Our process reduces trash volume by 90%, helps generate power, and controls pollution for our local Maine communities.
We're always interested in hearing from qualified individuals who would like to submit their resume for consideration should other positions become available in the future. I had to wait in line for the scale house for over 30 minutes and when I got to the scale the cashier came off like we were annoying him for coming in to throw away house demo. When I drove down to the dumping bays there was nails everywhere on the ground and the dump worker was just chatting away with a young lady instead of taking care of the nails that could go into my tire. Also their was trash all along the fence line and the pond was filled with trash also. The entire place was absolutely disgusting and I think they need to do a better job at keeping it clean. I know theirs a River behind

I've been using Mid Maine for the past 2 years and have had nothing but great experiences with them. Their staff is polite, accomodating, and willing to happily answer any questions you may have. I've done many cleanouts throughout the state and have had to deal with many waste locations who are not nearly as accomodating/polite/nice. Very happy to continue doing business with Mid Maine Waste.
