Services
We offer a number of analytical services to fulfill your forage testing needs. It is important to ensure great care is taken while taking either a forage or water sample, our analyses can only be as good as the sample that is received. For hay sampling information, please refer to the "Sample Collection" page.
Our laboratory has been certified for wet chemistry analyses by the National Forage Testing Association (NFTA) for nearly 20 years and we have consistently received high marks for our proficiency testing. We have now also received our certification for NIRS analysis. Unlike many of the larger testing facilities, we grind the entire sample that is submitted, providing a more representative sample for analysis.
Contaminants can enter water supplies as naturally-occurring environmental pollutants, but also as a result of human and animal activities. The only way homeowners can ensure their water is safe to drink is to have their water tested periodically. We analyze a variety of water sources including public water systems, private wells, fountains and ponds.
It is important to ensure all water sources, including livestock water, are free of bacteria and contain safe levels of heavy metals. Levels of heavy metals in excess of recommendations can lead to harmful effects in domestic and livestock animals. Our livestock water package includes pH, Alkalinity, Nitrate-N, Sulfate, TDS, Hardness and 11 Basic Minerals.
We are certified by the State of Arizona for Aflatoxin determination in cottonseed and cottonseed products. Our laboratory utilizes HPLC technology for Aflatoxin determination, which is a far superior method compared to using an assay test kit. We have consistently been ranked one of the highest in the nation for Aflatoxin analysis.
