Concord Pilates
In my first career as a professional musical theater performer, I was introduced to several different movement systems, such as dance, aerobics, and strength training. When I injured my back during a performance, I found Pilates and discovered that the method works like an owner's manual for your body.

I was so amazed at how Pilates gave me the tools to understand my body so that I could protect it and not get hurt again that I began extensive training in Pilates and other forms of exercise, including yoga, body conditioning, and group fitness. In 2006, I switched careers and started teaching Pilates full-time, including leading Teacher Training courses for would-be Pilates teachers.
Services
Joseph Pilates originally intended his exercise program to be taught in one-on-one, individualized sessions. A private Pilates session can help you reach your goals more quickly, find the most efficient, effective exercises, assure you are in correct form and control, and motivate you to stay the course.
At Concord Pilates we know that your time is precious, and you want to see results from your workout. Still, it's important to know that Pilates is not a quick-fix solution. It's a process of completely reinventing and reshaping your body from the inside out. As you know, change takes discipline and consistency.

I have wanted to try this studio for a while. I have friends who used to go here and they raved about it!
Last time I spoke with one of my friends, she let me know this place has taken a turn for the worse about a year ago and none of them went there anymore.
She said that the owner changed policy constantly and was very rude and didn't give the students the time of day. Another one of my friends said the teachers became inconsistent and lacked passion...
I figured I would not let them persuade me and I would give it a try and form my own opinion.

I started classes at Concord Pilates last year as a complement to strength training. I've been very happy with the progress in core strength and have also seen significant improvement in posture and body awareness. The instructors are sensitive to each individual's goals and physical issues. As a result, the instruction even in group classes is personalized.

I've never written a review before but I had to about concord Pilates because they have literally changed my life. After 16 years of chronic back pain, I am finally pain free! The instructors are amazing (Sara is my favorite) and I love the equipment Pilates!

As a long time gym rat and medical professional, I have pretty high standards when it comes to exercise instruction. Concord Pilates has those same high standards. The instructors at Concord Pilates are some of the most knowledgable I've experienced over my many years of group classes, circuit training, etc. Regardless of your level of fitness or coinciding medical issues, they will tailor a Pilates routine that will challenge you.

I am 68 years old and have attended Concord Pilates mat and equipment classes for four years. It looks as though I may be able to stop taking blood pressure medication that I have been on for years. I feel stronger and more flexible than I ever have. Thanks to Concord Pilates for your teaching and support.

I came across Pilates about a year ago, looking for a workout routine to keep me strong and address some of my compromised body parts due to sport related injuries. The journey has been amazing, the staff/classes are much more then any work out session I have attended. Classes are professional, informative and teachers are always willing to assist and discuss concerns. I have progressed thru the different levels of workout routines, I'm currently working on my personal strengthening program specific to my needs and weaknesses, developed by Mara thru personal evaluations. An amazing opportunity

I have practiced Pilates and yoga for about 10 years and find Concord Pilates to be the best combination of environment and instruction above all else. I have gained core strength and so much more awareness of my posture. The instructors are all knowledgable and lovely; they make you feel good about the progress you make, and challenge you to always take your posture a little further. They take the time to know each student and remember your strengths and weaknesses so you have instruction tailored to you. Almost 12 months ago I embarked on the journey of finding a consistent work out routine that I could do in conjunction with my horseback riding. I had checked out crossfit, and various other physical activities, but the majority of them were to hard on my knee. I soon discovered Concord Pilates. In the past twelve months my knee is now actually in a better place to the point that I started running again. I have better flexibility, balance and endurance which has better my horseback riding as well. I also find my workouts to be peaceful which has helped me during stressful times in my life. Mara

I am a runner and triathlete, and I credit Mara and Concord Pilates with keeping me injury-free. It's not only the actual classes that help, but Mara's understanding and education of movement principles that I can bring with me and apply to all my other athletic endeavors. If you're a runner (or anyone else!) in Concord and you're NOT at Concord Pilates, you're doing yourself a disservice.

I had my first solo session yesterday.
Sarah was great, not once did I feel judged or embarrassed! She was supportive and easy to talk to.

My experience has been excellent. Their knowledge is incredible and flexibility to work within your schedule is great. The studio is very warm and welcoming. The variety of classes means there's always something I'm interested in and it is great that they allow you to come in and work on your own between classes. Their revamped website gives me extra exercises between classes as well. I have begun referring my massage clients there to strengthen and correct their imbalances because their knowledge far surpasses mine. I would highly recommend trying them out.

I've been attending pilates at Concord Pilates for over a year. I highly recommend it. Mara is wonderful about working individually with people's body types and injuries to help people get the best workout that they can without further injury. She's very thoughtful about people's specific challenges.
