Services
If periodontal disease is your problem, the treatment can vary widely depending on how far the diseases have progressed. If caught in the early stages, simple procedures are done that will remove the plaque and calculus from below the gum line and disrupt the infection-causing bacteria. If these diseases have advanced to the point where the periodontal pockets are deep and the supporting bone is lost, further treatment might be necessary.
It includes descriptions of our office location, including a map and directions, hours, appointment scheduling, insurance acceptance and billing policies. Emergencies will be handled as promptly as possible. If there is ever an emergency during non-business hours, first call the office and leave a message with the answering service.
Bad Breath, or halitosis, is an embarrassing problem that affects millions. To combat it, many people use breath mints, chewing gum, sprays and mouthwashes. In fact, Americans spend billions of dollars each year on these products - even though they offer only a temporary fix. Getting rid of persistent foul odors on the breath in a lasting way requires a little detective work on the part of dental professionals.
When dental emergencies and pain occur, our attention is often focused on diseases and injuries related to the teeth. However, it's important to remember that the soft tissues of the mouth - the gums, tongue, lips and cheek lining - may also be affected. While they are tough enough to stand up to the oral environment, these tissues can be damaged by accidental bites, falls, sports injuries, and scalding liquids.
Tooth extraction is the complete removal of a tooth from its socket. It's often needed in cases where the tooth is too damaged to save, or when existing teeth are blocking other teeth from erupting. The only way to know for sure if a tooth needs to be extracted is to have a thorough exam with Dr. William C. Strutz in Shawnee, KS.

I found Dr Strutz to be very knowledgeable and was able to explain what the various diseases of the gums and bone structure around them were. He was very extensive in his initial evaluation for me. He and his office staff were very cordial.

Just the thought of dentist overwhelms me. My last experience with a dentist was a nightmare so I was referred to Dr Strutz. What an outstanding experience. He was very empathetic. Very knowledgeable about what was goin on in my horrible mouth. He developed an amazing plan to heal and restore my smile. I’m actually looking forward to going back tomorrow. I can’t believe I’m saying this but....... “I think I like my dentist” 😁

I couldn’t be happier with Dr Strutz and his staff. They made me feel very comfortable, and really explained everything that was going on with my gum disease. He was very transparent on the treatment and the next steps, which I appreciated. I drove 3.5 hours to get to his office, and it was worth the trip. Highly recommended!

My 22-year-old son has been experiencing bleeding gums after scaling and root planing from his regular dentist and had the perception that he had gum recession. After a thorough online search, we decided to make an appointment with Dr. Strutz for a second opinion. My son made the call to make an appointment, talking directly with Dr. Strutz, and had an appt. within a week. I tagged along to the appointment, wanting to hear first-hand what the doctor had to say. Dr. Strutz was at the desk welcoming us to his office. After several bad experiences hiring office staff, he has taken on that portion

On December 16th., Dr. Strutz provided a full set of x-rays, oral examination, and determined that in his professional opinion that I don't require treatment for periodontal disease. He was very patient to answer many questions related to his dental experience and background. Thank you Dr. Strutz
