The first thing you need to know before placing a decking order is how much material you'll need. First, get a rough estimate of your deck's square footage by multiplying its length by its width. Use the handy Deck Calculator below to convert your deck's square footage to linear feet. Linear feet is how decking is measured, so once you have that number you're ready to get your custom quote!

We were brand new customers at advantage lumbar today. Everyone was very helpful right when we walked in, and the sales rep Lizeth answered all of our questions with kindness and ease. The decking is both beautiful and reasonably priced! We will return for future projects and would highly recommend to all.

Went on a whim to check out the store & a nice guy named George (or Jorge?) showed me around. I've been eyeing Tigerwood for a while & was lucky he had time to break everything down for me & was funny as heck. Honestly I wanted to invite the guy out for a beer afterwards haha beautiful wood def check it out. I got hooked up with some samples & will probably be purchasing soon.

I don't often write reviews but I want to share my wonderful experience with Advantage Lumber, I only bought a small amount of cumaru for a project that I am working on but the wood was a little too light in color and did not match what I had used before so I bought it back to Leann Hernandez and she checked with the manager and he said it was OK to exchange it she went to the back and made sure that I was well taken care of. I called a week before our project to confirm availability of product, which was scarce but we had several options and to not be concerned. A week later I called to place the order and encountered an INCREDIBLY rude salesperson (I wish I would have gotten his name) that yelled at me for asking questions about availability and told me "I should have known better" about lumber availability. I was appalled by the way this was handled and the condescending attitude. I have sourced my materials elsewhere for now and hopefully this was an isolated incident, but pretty inexcusable.

I researched this company before my purchase and was comfortable with my purchase. I spent in the thousands, was told that my product would ship in 10 -14 days. I waited 14 business days. Having received no communication, I called them. They told me it would be 2 weeks before they got a shipment to begin fashioning my order. They would ship 10-14 days after that. They are the busiest they have ever been was their excuse. My problem is they should have called me when they realized it would be that long. They were fine to charge my card though.

I had no problem with the sales process. It was an easy order placement. I pretty much knew what i wanted.
Second time order arrived some tiles had very different color than others. They seemed to suggest if we just oil them more, color will be like the others. WRONG!
They also missed around 26 spacers at less than $2 each. Who cares about that money. I told them they missed it and my sales rep almost sounded accusatory and argumentative. I told him i would be happy to pay for them if they really think they did not miss them. It is not like i'm collecting

Not a good place to do business! Swindled us on IPE Clip exchange. They delivered black and we ordered brown. They then charged us a restocking fee because of there mistake. Furthermore it was a complete hassle to contact the person in the accounting department. Product was delivered end of May and now finally the refund has gone through.

I have been to lots of lumber yards and specialty woods distributors. But Advantage Lumber is special. These folks are dedicated customer service professionals. They have the highest quality exotic woods too. Ipe, Cumaru, Tigerwood and more. I wanted to purchase Ipe to build a deck that would be beautiful and long lasting. We purchased Brazilian teak from Advantage lumber for a 37x10 deck. We were informed by our sales rep at the begginning of May we'd have to wait for shipment because what was in yard wasn't very good. Less than 2 weeks later wood arrived. We followed all there instructions and used all their products. Our deck was finished and oiled. It is beautiful wood, but less than 2 month the boards started twisting, cracking out knots and slitting along edges of boards. We contacted Advantage lumber and sent pictures of all areas that were warping, cracking and splitting. Their last response

Ordered 300 sq ft of Ipe over the phone using the website as a guide.
Matthew walked me through converting square feet to linear feet, and asked enough about the layout of the project to guide me towards buying short lengths, because they are cheaper.
Shipping was free, and took 4 days to San Francisco: we had to offload ourselves, but the bundles were adequately wrapped in the truck.
A smooth experience and about 20% cheaper than my local supplier.

7 weeks to deliver 3 quarter sawn white oak panels and then when they arrived the quality was awful: multiple planar gouges, dented and chipped edges, poor wood selection. They used wood with knots in a glued up panel. Really? These panels were supposed to be suitable for a table top; they aren't usable for anything.

I was looking for quality wood for some outdoor projects when I found Advantage Lumber on the internet.
I showed up as a walk in and was promptly helped by Jonathan. He was very helpful and took my order.
It did not take long for the guys in the warehouse to pull and cut what I ordered and have me pull my truck up to the loading dock. They helped me carefully load the wood and off I went.
The wood is great quality and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
I am looking forward to the next project I need wood for!
