Income Generation - You had hoped to retire on a portfolio of CDs. Then reality happened and your retirement planning got slightly more complicated. In the past, you were willing to accept the ups and downs of the stock market because you were focused on growing your nest egg. Now, you need that nest egg to generate your income - but how?
Young Professionals - You're busy. You're building a career and continuing your education, all while trying to maintain an active social life. You may have debt. Perhaps you have considered starting a family or maybe you have young children already. It seems like just yesterday you were in school, but now people are telling you to start putting money away for retirement.
Loss of a spouse - The loss of your spouse has left you feeling alone and anxious. You used to make important decisions together. Well intentioned people, including family members, are asking you to make those decisions on your own. You know you have to act, but you're not sure what to do. Some decisions need to be made right away, while others can wait.
I grew up in a small New England town and attended Saint John's Prep School in Danvers, Massachusetts. In 1994, I graduated from Boston College and began my pursuit of a career in law enforcement. After putting myself through the police academy, I worked as a municipal police officer and later went on to work as an investigator for the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office.
I am originally from the Lehigh Valley. I started in the financial industry as a Bank Teller and then with a small regional firm, Gruntal & Co in 1983. I spent 8 years there as the operations manager, learning both the operations and investment side of the business. In 1991, I accepted a position with Dean Witter Reynolds as a Client Service Associate and witnessed all the evolutions of the company to become the current Morgan Stanley.
