Services
Dr. H. Jack Geiger and Dr. Count Gibson (Tufts University Medical School Physicians) secured funding in 1965 from the Office of Economic Opportunity to establish what is now known as Delta Health Center, Inc. in Mound Bayou (then all African- American town), MS to serve Bolivar, Coahoma, Sunflower, and Washington counties, where poverty was widespread.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that one-fourth of children (ages 2-5 years old) in the United States have tooth decay. Two-thirds of adolescents (ages 12-19 years old) have tooth decay and 20% of these adolescents are not treated. Additionally, each year nearly eight thousand Americans die from oral and pharyngeal cancers.
Delta Health Center offers a Diabetes Self-Management Workshop for people diagnosed with diabetes. A new group begins on the first Monday of each month. See a DHC provider for a referral. Funded by a grant from the Mississippi Department of Health, Delta Health Center offers a Diabetes Prevention Program for patients who meet the eligibility risk factors for diabetes.
Well-trained, licensed phlebotomists, lab technicians, and other laboratory staff at DHC understand the importance of testing. Samples of blood, urine, or body tissues are taken to identify substances within body fluids, assist in organ evaluation, aid in disease management, and establish the nature of conditions and diseases.
Our providers comprehensively care for infants, children, and adolescents. They make decisions daily that improve the health and lives of infants through adulthood, form relationships with parents, and diagnose and treat youth. DHC takes pride in providing the most compassionate care & services to children.

This clinic has great staff members, however on last week my parent was treated rudely by one the current Nurse Practitioner on staff. As he was talking to her about his condition, she shut him off. She even went to the extent of having the secretary to call him & tell him "If you want to go see another doctor you can!" He only wanted to be heard and respected. To top it off, she never examined him to confirm his condition for herself.
I appreciate health PROFESSIONALS & your hard work does not go unnoticed. However, like any other profession, your patients are customers and GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE

I live an hour away from this facility. The first time that I went there, I had a toothache. I had no insurance bc I was between jobs. The doctor pulled it, and I felt no pain and didn’t even need pain medication afterwards. Really...The second time that I went, I went for my yearly checkup...This doctor was better than my paid doctor🧐. The third time, I went for a cleaning... Impressive..🤩The staff is VERY friendly and the level of care is on a grand scale. On January 1st, I got my insurance back and I continue to travel here for my needs. This place is a blessing to many bc many don’t

They have gotten better with the time you have to wait. New post. I came out here at 8am and they did test and what not but I have been waiting longer for a doctor excuse who waits 30 minutes for a doctor excuse. Help these people. That was my statement then. They have new people now an they don't know how to talk to people. You have ahard time getting to see your doctor. It sucks now. Don't go to the health center.

The nurse and the doctor I saw were really nice. But I have been there 3 times and have waiting an hour each time before even taken to the back. Then once in the back, it was another 30 minutes before I saw the doctor. They work very slow and aren't even apologetic about it. If you plan to go there, plan to be there for a couple of hours.

Some of the doctors and nursing staff are messy as hell! They are very judgemental and are always gossiping! They are spending too much time sitting at the front desk gossiping with the receptionist or nurse. What happened to the clinic or hospital being a judgement-free zone, confidentiality, and overall respect for the client? Don't doctors and nurses take an oath or vow to respect clients privacy and beliefs? DHC staff is too involved in what people on social media are saying about clients. I picked up on all of the shade, whispering in the hallways, and code words and gestures that they were
