The Water Works Board of the Town of Parrish was formed in 1958, as a nonprofit municipal corporation, to serve the residents of the Town of Parrish with safe drinking water. At this time the system served approximately 250 customers. In 1991, the Board took over the operation and maintenance of the wastewater collection and treatment systems for the Town of Parrish and was renamed Parrish Water Works and Sewer Board.

Today the Board serves approximately 2050 water customers with 135 miles of transmission lines inside Parrish and surrounding areas of south Walker County. Water is purchased through a purchase contract with Jasper Water Works and Sewer Board. The Laye-Williams Water Treatment Plant, located on the Mulberry Fork of the Warrior River, provides surface water treatment.

Decent work done, but their attitude is not work or people friendly. I had to pay for my water tap put in, they had no issue with that. But the sewer tap was something they did not want to do at all. They have my money for that back. Found put there was a way to hook to seser, so paid (again) for it to be done. The whole time the guys were complaining and being very rude. One even said something about the location of my power pole, and another replied 'well Thats their Damn problem just like this line is their problem'. Shortly before that statement they had all decided to take a 10-15 cell phone
