Permacolor, Inc. soon realized powder coating offered a far superior method of corrosion protection and had almost zero impact on the environment compared to liquid coating. Although, frequently, the surface preparation and application of the powder coat was lacking in the industry and did not meet required expectations.

Permacolor was a solid company when Rob owned it. Since his passing and subsequent transfer to to Armondo, I feel the customer service has fallen. I've had numerous projects done by them, and for the most part everything came out as expected, but recently they really dropped the ball on a very important item, and it took some effort on my end to get them to realize and own their mistake. I was crystal clear on what I needed, and they blew it.

We used Permacolor to refinish (powdercoat) our faded patio tables and chairs. We are very pleased with the results and service. Price was better than another local source and an out of town source that advertises refinishing of patio furniture. Armando and associate were efficient and pleasant. Pickup and delivery in SB was at a reasonable charge. Armando even bought color samples for us to choose from. We started the process by emailing photos of our faded furniture. We received care instructions for the future, too.

Permacolor recently coated a roll cage for me. They sand blasted, zinc primed, and color-coated the assembly for a very reasonable price. The work was high-quality, and completed VERY quickly. Add in great communication and friendly people and you'd be hard pressed to find a better solution in the Santa Barbara area.

Been doing business with permanent color for the past 5 years and have been more than impressed not only with the quality and quick turn around time, but with the knowledge of the staff. Items that other companies said could not be powder coated were done by perma color and even with all the abuse over the last 5 years they still look great!

Armando is the biggest crook out there. Do Not do business with this guy. We took a lumber rack into his shop to have powder coated and when we picked it up it was completely bent and would not fit on the truck (same truck that it was made for and was delivered in). We were told it would be fixed and delivered to us in Santa Barbara. When it was delivered, it was completely bent the other way. Armando took it back to his shop and then called and said he refused to fix it. We have major concerns about the structural integrity of the lumber rack now that it has been bent. Armando doesn't care and
