I offer a collaborative and holistic approach to adult counseling and psychotherapy services in the metropolitan Atlanta-Marietta area. I am honored to partner with my clients on their journeys of hope and resourcefulness. Perhaps you, like many others who seek counseling, have difficulty at times achieving what you want out of life.

When we cannot reach our goals by ourselves, counseling can help. My clients tell me that through the unbiased support of our counseling relationship and the respectful, caring environment I provide, they feel accepted and understood. They further share that these experiences inspire their process toward positive change.
Services
Each individual moves toward his or her goal with a different pace and a different style of movement. Each of us has had experiences that hold individualized meaning. I appreciate this uniqueness among people and therefore encourage clients to teach me about their specific needs, beliefs, and circumstances.
When we realize that we have the skills and support we need to achieve our goals, resourcefulness unfolds. My name is Linda Heaviside. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia (LPC007550) and a National Board Certified Counselor (#237932). I earned my Master of Science in Community Counseling in 2009 from Mercer University.
To individualize treatment, I integrate different therapeutic approaches into my practice including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), interpersonal therapy, psychodynamic theory and attachment theory.

Related skills I use are stress reduction skills, testing beliefs, exposure response prevention (ERP), mindfulness, eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), distress tolerance skills and emotion regulation skills. In addition, I practice hypnotherapy to better assist those who desire pain relief, a deeper understanding of personal conflict or behavioral change.
The counseling process can be a springboard to creating the life you want. Through this process, you will gain various skills that support your efforts toward positive change. When clients want better relationships at work or in their personal lives, for example, we address how to improve communication and explore relationship dynamics.
We all have an innate ability to feel good about ourselves and understand what is best for our well-being. In the face of life's challenges, however, we can sometimes begin to doubt our resilience and capabilities. We might also start to feel dissatisfied with different aspects of our lives including relationships, pleasurable activities and careers.
