Hobbs Door Service
C. L. Hobbs founded the Hobbs Door Company in 1966 with the vision of providing builders and homeowners with better quality products and a level of professional service unavailable at that time. Door dealers of that era generally carried garage doors as a secondary product to other building materials such as gutters, tile, windows, and even swimming pools.

Garage doors were often installed by carpenters or handymen who had no professional training or experience. The new company that was totally focused on professional garage door installation and repair was well received. By 1968 the company was serving over 100 of the area's finest home builders, with a service area extending from Williamsburg, VA to Ocracoke, NC.
Services
These doors have been up for several years and show just how well wood can hold up with proper maintenance. A stamped steel carriage house door is a great option for a low maintenance and classic look. Hobbs Door Service would like to thank the numerous builders and homeowners that have chosen us to install and repair their garage doors over the past 52 years!
Any garage door product is only as good as the installation. An expensive door, installed incorrectly, will fail in a few short years while a properly installed, budget-friendly door will out-perform it. Unfortunately, we often see this when we are called out to repair doors that have been installed incorrectly.
Both basic and high end garage door replacements can increase the value of your home and statistics show the return-on-investment can be as high as 89% if the house is sold! We strive to offer the best products and service to our customers to make sure that value is maximized. Ultimate products are often seen on Carwashes, they offer the perfect doors and openers for your wet or harsh environments.
The first step in isolating your problem should always be to check over the your garage door and opener and look for any noticable issues or part failures. If any parts are broken or out of place, the door may be dangerous to operate before these are fixed.

Most parts on a garage door are the same on both the right and left side of the door, so if you find something that doesn't look quite right, you may be able to look at the other side as a reference. With the door closed, pull the emergency disconnect (usually a red handle near the operator trolley) If you can open the door fairly easily after disconnecting the operator from the door, you most likely have an operator problem.

Hobbs Door Service was recommended on Nextdoor after I posted a listing that my rental property's garage door had come off the track. I am so glad that they were available to help. Janice was so friendly, accommodating, and very communicative. Kurt came out to do the repair and thoroughly explained the job during the process. Their customer service was top notch and I wouldn't hesitate to call on them or refer their company.

Great service and great value. Recommended by friends. The contact person was friendly and courteous. Got an appointment right away. Our technician, Clayton, showed up in the appointed time frame and went right to work on our 50+ year old double garage doors. Installed new springs and cables and a door opener we had had sitting in the box for 15 years. We were 100% happy. Great company.

My garage door jammed in the open position, which took me an hour to close it at 10 p.m. I left a message at the Hobbs website to contact me. Early the next day I received a call at my office from a lady at Hobbs named "Janice." After asking her several questions it was clear that she knew more about garage door principles and physics than any two handymen I know. (I learned later that her last name is "Hobbs.") She gave me a cost estimate for the visit and sent a service rep named "Clay" that afternoon at an appointed time. Clay efficiently not only repaired
