At Spectrum Machine & Design we specifically target the manufacturing of complex parts and tooling for the Aerospace and Defense industries. We possess extensive experience in the manufacture of complex parts such as turbine blades and vanes as well as many other turbine engine components. Our niche is in the manufacturing of parts that have complex geometry as well as difficult to machine materials.
We have yet to decline a project due to complexity. We also efficiently manufacture parts that are of a more simplistic prismatic shape and are made from more common materials as well. We use the latest machine tool technology, software and systems to yield the most demanding results. We specialize in producing products efficiently and in a cost effective manner regardless as to how complex the design is.

Services
Spectrum Machine & Design LLC started in 1999 as a cold startup in the South Glastonbury garage of Connie and Gary Poesnecker. A reputation for innovation and high quality work quickly developed and the business grew rapidly. The garage was soon outgrown and space was rented and the shop moved to a couple of different locations in Glastonbury over the next twelve years.
At Spectrum Machine and Design, we offer CNC machining using the latest technology in machine tools, NC programming software and cutting tools. We have successfully manufactured components that others could not. We are innovative and creative in our approach to a project and we continually seek to improve processes and methods.

Spectrum Machine and Design is well equipped with state of the art CNC machinery. Our manufacturing operations are housed in a clean, modern, temperature controlled 17,000 square foot facility which provides the environment in which sophisticated, precision manufacturing can be achieved. Our facilities are located adjacent to Bradley International Airport (BDL).
Acceptance of an order, contract or tender from SMD allows our personnel, our customer representatives and regulatory agency representatives the right of entry into your facility to review any product, process or records relative to our purchase order. Providers shall conform to the drawing and/or specification requirements flowed down, including revision levels.

Great place to work, especially as a first job. Family owned, so the boss and the family were nice, reasonable and understanding. Benefits were great! Occasional things like Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners/parties were great! Small shop so you get comfortable quick. New machines and technology was always entering the doors. It was fun to see fresh new investments coming in. Assistance with paperwork was always provided. Always room to improve your skills, especially when a person needed to break in the new machine. Mostly Mazak and Matsuura CNC machines. Shop is clean and organized.
