Services
A Birth Center is a homelike facility, existing within a health care system with a program of care designed in the wellness model of pregnancy and birth. Birth centers are guided by principles of prevention, sensitivity, safety, appropriate medical intervention, and cost effectiveness. Birth centers provide family-centered personalized care for healthy women before, during and after normal pregnancy, labor and birth.

I have gone to Healing Passages for 6 years - well woman care, pregnancy care, home birth with Cosette, and now over 4 years later, still rely on the village of women that Healing Passages has built. All of my care has been personalized, holistic, and evidence-based. As a doula, I see my clients experiencing the same care. I highly recommend Healing Passages for well woman care as well as pregnancy and birth. There is no other care and space like Healing Passages in central Iowa!

My entire experience with this place has been phenomenal. Never in my life did I expect to be as empowered regarding pregnancy as the people here helped me to feel. Every decision was informed, nothing unnecessary was done, and I feel like my baby and I are more than just numbers, even now. I’m so thankful Healing Passages was available to help me during my pregnancy and birth.

I consider myself incredibly lucky to have found this amazing place early on in my pregnancy. Cosette and Carrie are amazing midwives and their team at Willowsong is sheer perfection! The birth center is absolutely stunning and is everything you would dream of having for an out of hospital birth. There are classes hosted there for mothers and moms to be and are open to the community. Everything they do is out of love and passion. If you are considering a birth center, give them a call, visit their website, set up a meeting/attend a class or tour. They are here for you and will answer any questions

I can’t speak highly enough about the care & education model that they have at Healing Passages. Through my whole pregnancy I felt well educated, informed, & confident. I even started looking forward to my prenatal appointments after my initial nerves calmed & I realized just how different the environment was from a hospital setting. The care I appreciated so much continued into postpartum & has been crucial in helping me process our birth story & making our breastfeeding journey a reality. The birth center has continued to be a place for my little one & I to go for support, information, advice

When we found out my wife was pregnant with our first child I told her we will use any provider of her choice. Willowsong was immediately who she picked, and they have blown my expectations out of the water. The classes they provide are so informative and set your expectations for reality and really prepare you for what to expect. The midwives are incredible and the visits feel like you are visiting friends and not just with a healthcare provider. They listened to all of our questions and took the time to answer them. Not once ever making us feel rushed or like we were bothering them. I trust them

Willowsong provided me with the best possible birth journey, and labor/delivery experience, I could've hoped for. As a first time mom, I had a wonderful home water birth- memories of birthing my son in my bedroom still make my heart soar. I can't say enough about the incredible prenatal and postnatal care I received through Willowsong. Kari and Cosette are thoughtful, experienced and highly educated midwives. It was clear every single time I was there it was more than a job for them as well as everyone else associated with their practice. They make it a very person experience. I felt so cared for and confident in my decisions. They don't use fear or commands to guide your care. They help educate you, give you resources, their experience and education-based advice, but let you ultimately decide what's best for you and your family

AMAZING care! So personalized and you can really tell Kari and Cosette care about you. I would go back to them in a heart beat. Not only are they caring, but also very professional and knowledgeable about well woman care, prenatal care, and birth. Wonderful!
