Livingston County Health Center has been serving the county as its local public health agency since 1977. Our agency began as a pilot clinic and was then voted in by the citizens of Livingston County. Public health is the science of protecting and improving the health of people and their communities. This work is achieved by promoting healthy lifestyles, researching disease and injury prevention, and detecting, preventing and responding to infectious diseases.

In the State of Missouri, children under the age of 8 must be secured in an appropriate car seat or booster seat. It is estimated that 80% of car seats are installed incorrectly. LCHD has Certified Passenger Safety Technicians on staff that can inspect for proper installation and make sure your seat is appropriate for your child's size and age.
Communities face threats to its health from many sources. Loss of control over toxic substances, pollution of our water and air, accidents within our transportation system, among others, all represent threats. No threat, however, is of greater concern than that of a disease organism that is out of control and affecting people.
