We love our smaller home and the fact that all maintenance - inside and out - is taken care of. Not having to plan and cook meals is wonderful. There are activities galore! We researched & visited several retirement communities. We moved from Summerfield to 'The Oaks' Retirement Community at Waterman Village in Mount Dora. We wanted a community that offered all three levels of living: independent, assisted, and a Medicare 5-Star rated nursing and rehabilitation center.
The Choice, the Quality, Quantity and the Service. Many people have specifically chosen to move to The Oaks Retirement Community at Waterman Village, because of our dining services experience. I was looking forward to my visit to Waterman Village as they were advertising their new Senior Apartments. The staff was very friendly. However, I did not know that the apartments were a buy in of $200,000 plus the monthly rent. I felt with the economy uncertain and no interest on the $200,000 to move was not suitable to me. It is a beautiful facility. I wish when I called for my appointment they told me more than just the rent. I was never told it was strictly a buy in for the Apartments across the street on Donnally when I arrived for the appointment. The waiting list for just a rental on the

There is nothing you can find negative about this facility. Great food, friendly staff, helpful services, free transportation to local places, fitness center, golf membership walking paths, heated pool, on site chapel just to name a few. The people and staff there are extremely helpful in every detail.

Waterman Village has been an outstanding healthcare experience for our family. My Dad fell and broke his hip and the love & care by the staff, the meals provided, and medical care has been excellent. We like the care so well, that at the age of 96, my Dad will be moving into the beautiful Bridgewater assisted living at the Waterman Village. He deserves the best. This is my brother Dale, with our Dad Dale!
