Big Bear RV Park is family owned and operated. Our clean and friendly campground has much to offer the Alaskan traveler. Centrally located in the heart of the Mat-Su Valley just a few miles from both the cities of Palmer and Wasilla, (and only 37 miles from Anchorage). We provide a great location to set up and set out on day trips to explore the surrounding areas.
Our park is a destination-must for visitors and locals who wish to get out whether you're RV or tent camping or needing a cabin getaway. Came up to Alaska from Florida. Great trip and beautiful scenery, but not all camping experiences were as pleasant as this at Big Bear RV Park & Cabins in Palmer, AK.

A restaurant is a place you go to treat yourself, to be taken care of, to be excited about food. At Evangelo's Restaurant, they always work to bring a sense of home in there kitchen, food, and dining experience. Evangelo's is a taste of a Mediterranean home. The menu at the Noisy Goose Cafe consists mostly of traditional home-style meals that are always available any time of the day.
From Wasilla: From the Parks Highway (Number 3), you can exit at Seward-Meridian Parkway, Hyer Road or Trunk Road. At the Seward-Meridian exit, continue forward which is the beginning of Fireweed Frontage Road. We are 2 miles from exit. From the Hyer exit, which is the next exit past Seward-Meridian, turn left onto Fireweed Frontage Road.

THE Best campground in Alaska! Incredibly clean and well set up. Breezy check in and great signage. A playground, laundry room and even a gazebo. Whoever does the landscaping takes a lot of pride in their work and it shows. We had one brief interaction with a staff, we asked where the dumpster was. Instead of saying, you've walked by it 4x, driven by it 6x, and it has a big sign that say dumpster (lol) he kindly showed us where it was.

Best place ever, clean showers, a nice central gazebo to grill under with a complimentary grill already there to use, and easy check in with the phone, everything is emailed to you and they don't hassle you, it was a great experience. They went out of their way to keep our family together with spots next to each other. 10 stars

This should not qualify as a campground. There are 6 tent sites and the one we were "assigned" was in the middle of the loop right across from the port-a-potty. We had no space whatsoever for our 6 person tent and the middle section was overgrown. We ended up not staying because there was no space for tent camping. We ended up going to Matanuska River Park Campground. If you are going for RV camping it will be fine, but DO NOT use for tent camping. Not worth the $30.

We stayed here when we moved to Alaska and were looking for housing. We stayed here for almost three months. We had full hook ups in a 27 foot RV. They didn’t open the bathhouse or laundry until May 1st. They did have some hot water issues but Rose addressed it quickly. Laundry facilities are adequate.
They were great from the moment I called them to inquire if they were open in April and if they were available for long term lodging.
They have a lot of people that long term rent for a variety of reasons. They also have storage available which is helpful.
Rose takes awesome care of the park

It’s a clean, landscaped Park. Full service hook ups are
available. The laundry was $3.50 per load to wash & $3.50 to dry but...the showers which were spacious,
private, & clean are Free! Helped us as we were in
town for a week hockey camp with 3 boys. We used the gas grills that were available to everyone along with
yard games. Great value for $50 a day!
