In 1970, Ted and his wife opened the garden center at the present location on Onondaga Road in Syracuse, NY.

Ted and his team are AMAZING! Ted works right along side them all day long and is meticulous! He won’t leave one rock or pile of sand anywhere before he leaves each day. He has the most gorgeous plants and… trees and put together a masterpiece for our home. Ted integrated the most beautiful plants and trees throughout and even let our kids dig their own tree to light up at Christmas time. 🥰 Thank you again, Ted!

I was not impressed. The plants were not super healthy, but it is late in the season. The prices were reasonable, but not spectacular. The owner was not unpleasant, but didn't seem very interested in helping me either. Too bad, but maybe it was just a bad day. That was my experience.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I was a little disappointed because there wasn't as much of what I was looking for as I expected. However, I went at the end of August

An efficient place to source plants for the local landscaper. You drive right up and out when done as the parking and checkout is about 50ft or less away. And they have a great plant selection with good pricing.

I reached out to 3 smaller, local nurseries. Marcellus Nursery got back to me quickly with information and we became “pen pals” (as she put it 🤣) on Messenger to help me figure out exactly what I needed. I stopped in later when I could and, after seeing the options in person and more questions, left with great items for my landscape trouble spot. Very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. Thank you!!! 🍃🌱

I do not know how this place stays in business. I stop in once a while to look at their highly overpriced inventory and there is never anyone around to help you or ask questions. I stopped in today and noticed a golden barberry for $47.95. It is on the NYS top 10 invasive plant listand should not even be sold! I am done stopping in and wasting time and do not want to support a nursery that sells invasives.

Worst customer service in the HISTORY of small business! They over charge you for everything, and take shortcuts! The owner Ted which I had a lot of respect for since he's working at his age turned out to be the grumpiest old man I EVER met! Crooks, thieves is what this business is!

This nursery is really nice with lots of inventory. It may not be our favorite place around but it did have some beautiful plants that we ended up getting. The employees are knowledgeable and there are a few parking spots out front. The place isn't normally busy and is fun to come walk around and look at plants.

Best place in the Syracuse area to buy trees, shrubs, and large perennials. Excellent value, great services. Highly recommended. Sycamore Hill Garden's favorite nursery for quality and uniqueness.
