Simla Frozen Foods is a family operated business, established in 1990 when our family of five moved to Simla, Colorado from the Netherlands. We specialize in custom cutting, butchering and curing/smoking, sell beef, hogs, and lambs to those who are unable to supply them personally, but still wish to use our services.
We also raise and process our own chickens for retail sale. Our retail grocery store is stocked with select items from our locker plant, a variety of cheeses imported from the Netherlands in addition to frozen foods, pantry items, household & personal care products and a variety of every day goods from kitchen implements to school supplies and greeting cards.

Services
Our goal is to cut meat in a sustainable and specialized manner that will eliminate waste both here at the plant and in your home. We maximize the tenderness in your meat through aging techniques which use different temperatures and times, without sprays or rinses that can affect your consumption/allergies.

UPDATE: Met the owner and she was extremely welcoming and nice. Not like the employee that told us to go into town next time if we wanted to shop for groceries and snide remarks about us being new ranchers in the area. Beats traveling 45 minutes away to town! Also, the speciality items from Denmark are greatly appreciated! Now I won't go without my favorite items.

Simla is a small town, really in the middle of not much. The store is a bit pricey, but given that there's nothing else around for many miles any direction, it's cheaper than traveling to shop. Everyone, whether working or visiting, are very friendly. Small town manners and mannerism while in the cozy comfort of friends can be found in and around the Simla Food Store.
(Another plus! Their meat is delicious and very fresh, as there's a custom butcher shop just down the street!)

It's not a big grocery store it's a small town grocery store. It has a little bit of everything and it's fun because there's a lot of German products there. You can get pizza there as well freshly-made with as many toppings as you want with no extra cost, they have buffalo wings as well sandwiches. There's a few vegetables not many. If you buy vegetables or fruit make sure they're good and not to ripe. There's a table where you can sit down and eat and hear all the good gossip LOL. The homeowners are fabulous, her husband and her are so sweet. She will not let anybody walk out of the store hungry
