In 1905, an immigrant from Odessa, Russia named Michael H Novorr opened up a pawn/men clothing store on the corner of 19th and Main St in Kansas City. Over the years, he slowly transitioned the store to a men's clothing boutique. In the 1940's, Michael's two sons Howard and Eugene joined him in operating the business.
In 1965, the store expanded and we doubled the amount of floor space. Eugene's son and current 3rd generation owner Keith joined the family business in 1978 after attending the University of Texas. Keith now has over 35 years experience at Michael's Clothing and he is still working 5 days a week giving the finest personalized service Kansas City has to offer.

Extremely impressed. I entered the store today and was immediately assisted. The gentleman asked me what I was looking for. I told him casual shirt and pants. I said I’m not good at coordinating pants and shirts etc. He immediately had choices of shirts/pants laid on top of the rack for me to choose from. When it was all done I was in and out in 15 minutes. That included picking the clothes out for me, hemming the pants, pressing the shirt and pants and picking out a belt. Come to find out the gentleman assisting me was the owner and grandson of the founder. Gotta love locally owned places with

Keith was amazing when working with my husband. They have the best quality quits, and he works so hard to have them fit everyone perfectly. The best part is it is a better price here to BUY the suits than RENT at places like Mens Warehouse. For a suit, shirt and tie it was around $280 to buy. So amazing because all the groomsmen did not waste money just to wear a suit for one day, and can have it forever. The suits came in very fast and Keith was on top of it all. Highly recommend for all grooms and groomsmen, and for you brides who are worried your groom might need a little assistance with getting

Keith and the crew were, as usual, phenomenal. Last minute (literally - needed a killer suit with an hour to spare before a major event). I was in a rush but from the moment I stepped in the door, the pressure was off.

FANTASTIC STORE!
I cannot express how pleased I am to have found Michael's and will definitely be going there much more in the future. I am not a small man and truly do not have a standard size in any clothing. Michael's is staffed and stocked to fit anyone and the free tailoring they offer with the purchase of their clothing is icing on the cake.
I went to a few other stores in town and was basically turned away, respectfully, but still turned away.

My wife forgot to pack my shirt before we left for KC for our wedding. She said the clothes were all ready to go and ready to be put in the car. Come an hour before our party is set to begin and no shirt. You're probably thinking it's my fault for not checking at an earlier time, but she didn't check either so back off. I had to take a trip and see Keith over at MIchael's; He did a swell job keeping me calm and ensuring to give me the proper measurements to ensure my neck had ample comfort and coolness. He was well humored with my situation and had a great selection of shirts. I was very pleased

I was recently the best man in a wedding, and the groom chose to work with Michael's on all of our wedding attire. We weren't able to all be there at once, but they were very accommodating with out situation and more than reasonably priced. I personally worked with Keith, the owner, when I picked up my rental clothing. I told him I needed to get a pair of shoes to go with the clothes. All he needed was my shoe size and the first pair he showed me I loved. My wedding is next September and I will definitely be coming back to them.

Great experience. I had less than 1 hr to get clothes for a wedding since all of my nice clothes got shipped home. The gentleman at the store (Keith the owner) had me outfitted within 30 mins. This included tailoring the pants, steaming my clothes, and picking out shoes, shirt, pants, belt and socks. Overall I'm extremely happy with the service and quality. The store has many brands that I like (Florsheim, Johnston and Murphy's etc.) and quality cloth.
I recommend that you come here whether you have an emergency or not. I now know where my first stop is going to be whenever I need clothes in KC

Wow! Just drove by this place last weekend and found it just in time for a wedding I have to go to today. I'm just a guest to the wedding but I needed new formal clothes anyway, and I like to shop local so this was the perfect place. They are amazing. Great selection, very knowledgeable, very accommodating, and the above and beyond definition of kindness. I was in a time crunch and they got me in and out with new shirt, tie, and pants (steamed and tailored there in-store), all in about 35 minutes. The stuff they recommended was not too overly priced either, they just care about making you look
