Like many sheet metal companies, CMF, Inc. began with a few top-notch craftsmen doing what they knew and loved. These were 2nd or 3rd generation offspring of old, grizzled sheet metal workers that could make just about anything out of a flat sheet of copper or tin.

Known as Custom Metal Fabricators in the early years, the company gained a reputation for high-quality workmanship and being capable of designing, building, finishing and installing the most complicated of metal fabrications.Much of its business came from high-end custom residential projects. CMF gradually built a clientele of general contractors specializing in commercial buildings, auto dealerships, sports complexes and airports.

This commitment to provide a project completed on time, an accident-free workplace and the highest quality workmanship, has allowed the company to stand out from its competition and to negotiate the majority of its work with an extremely loyal customer base. CMF wants to be actively involved with the design process. Upfront planning and budgeting for the building "skin" and waterproofing components is critical to a successful project, both in terms of aesthetics and cost control. By exploring different options for materials, waterproofing, and attachment methods, an owner can save thousands of dollars on even relatively small projects.

CMF manages its design-assist, project analysis, and shop drawing activities in-house with a team of trained and experienced CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) professionals. Using AutoCAD 2018, Revit 2018 and Rhino 3D, the company uses BIM to integrate its designed systems with the overall project and to avoid conflicts when the installation begins.

CMF has extensive fabrication and installation experience with all types of architectural metals. The architectural metal marketplace is constantly evolving, with architects choosing from a wide array of metals in virtually any type, color, finish, size or configuration.
