It's important to know that Connecticut is a "no-fault" state. Simply put, this means that, in order to terminate a marriage, it's no longer necessary to prove that one spouse has been at fault for the breakdown of the marriage (for such reasons as "intolerable cruelty" or adultery).

Attorney McGrath helped me significantly throughout the process of dealing with a stressful child custody case. I have used Attorney McGrath for some time now and he has always been an exemplary professional. His attention to detail is unmatched and his cheerful, good nature made dealing with an extremely difficult custody matter much easier on all parties involved. I was unexpectedly served divorce papers without having an attorney on my side. I reached out to Carla because she was referred to me by a friend and she immediately called me with plans for court. During my divorce proceedings I was emotional and couldn't think straight on what I needed to fight for. Carla was refreshing to work with... I was faced with a very toxic divorce with just layers upon layers of challenges and she navigated it fluidly with a well thought out plan, she implemented it, and made the painful process less painful.
