Bonanza King Resort
Established in 1955, Bonanza King Resort is a 10 acre vacation paradise located along Coffee Creek in Trinity Country and positioned in over 525,000 acres of pristine wilderness in Northern California, an area rich in gold mining history. A year-round river filled with brown and rainbow trout, excellent for fly fishing and gold panning runs along it's bank.

Each beautifully maintained, private rental cabin is nestled among the tall trees along the banks of Coffee Creek and include a fully equipped kitchen with all linens. Beautiful Trinity Lake is near by and is great for bass fishing and waterskiing as well as many historical towns such as Lewiston, Shasta, Weaverville and Etna.
Services
Gold was discovered along the Trinity River in 1848. The communities, ghost towns and mining camps of Trinity County had their beginnings in those historic years following the discovery of gold. Some of these early mines were worked over by large gold dredges. The first successful dredge operation was started about 1916 by the Pacific Gold Dredging Company at the mouth of Coffee Creek.
Trinity Lake is a beautiful 17 mile long lake with 145 miles of shoreline and private coves. It's is just a short drive away and full of various activities. Trinity County is a very scenic, mountainous area in Northern California and was one of the original counties when the state was formed. It's full of history and adventure and has many activities to offer.
Summer reservations are by the week only. Summer reservations start mid June and continues to mid August, call for exact dates. For large groups, taking three or more cabins, deposits are required at the time of the reservation request. The deposit for less than a week is a one night rate for that cabin.

Very nice rustic cabins sitting next to Coffee creek. They have horseshoes, swimming, fishing, movie night and just laying around. The owner where very nice and friendly people. Will be going back. This is a great time of year to be there.

I had an excellent experience here last fall and I want to give the owners a shout-out. I was having car troubles up in the mountains and was in a serious pickle; the people who run this place helped me out and got me back on the road out of the goodness of their hearts.

The resort itself seemed like a nice operation - clean and tidy, well positioned for hiking nearby. I didn't stay there as a guest but I walked away with a great impression.

We stayed here for a couple of nights when we were in the area for a family get-together. This place is awesome!!! The owners are absolutely the best and the cabin we stayed in was comfortable, relaxing, well-appointed, just an amazing weekend away from home. Bonanza King Resort is now on our annual vacation list!!!

This place is great for families who want to get away from city life for a bit. Brian and Mary are very welcoming and have great ideas if you're looking for something to do. Or you can just go swimming in the river that's on the property. Tuesday and Thursday movie nights and Wednesday pancakes breakfast are great! They even have a Monday night farmers market. We love it here and go back every year!!

The owners are very friendly, they give the kids cold treats to cool off every afternoon. The cabins have a homey atmosphere but I would be careful, the cabins are old fashioned and the stairs are loose, at least in our cabin. Everything is walking distance and the kids have the best time on the plays set and the adults on the hammock

This is a fabulous place. Clean, well appointed and so much fun for everyone. A peaceful little treasure tucked in the woods by Coffee Creek.
A perfect place for both adults and kids. The kids can safely wander around the grounds with games, ping pong, fishing, swimming, and a beautiful teepee to inspire and honor the native culture. We stayed in Ramshorn and it was adorable. Had everything we needed, all we had to bring was food and games. Adults can laze around on the hammocks, or set your chair in the creek and just relax. Great white water rafting not to far away and the big city of Weaverville

We hit the jackpot when we stumbled upon Bonanza King Resort. When we drove up all we could say was WOW! We were greeted by the owners, Brian and Mary, and they immediately made us feel at home. We were just there mid-September 2016. The cabins were very clean and the kitchen stocked well. The cabins are nestled among trees, lawn, and split rail fencing. In Coffee Creek we had success fishing for trout and my brother in-law panned for gold and came away with some gold. If we can get the family together, we want to go back there for a family reunion. Very family/kid friendly. You can tell

Right on Coffee Creek and near the North Fork of the Trinity River, these resort cabins feature a smoke free environment nestled among cooling trees, featuring horse shoes, hammock, ping pong, and cooling swimming in the Creek.
Wine Tasting is available at near by Alpine Cellars where you can sit beneath a pear tree sipping the local wines that are quite good and have a picnic.

This whole area was a significant part of the California Gold rush with tailings that still line the north shore of the Claire Engle (Trinity Lake).
Summer reservations are by the week and oddly, the week always goes by

This is a very cool place that Brian and Marry (Owners) have put their heart and soul into over the past decade and the renovation results are fantastic. We were stranded in the nearby town of Weaverville, where there was no vacancy due to the harsh wildfires in August. All hotels were booked, but Brian made our day by accommodating us and even discounting the cabin for the night. They are wonderful kind people who go above and beyond for their guests, you can't go wrong staying here whether it's for a night, a weekend, or a month!!!

I had my wedding at Bonanza King Resort on June 13th, and my husband and I couldn't have asked for a better venue. The resort is available for a great price, and you and your guests get to stay in the cabins the entire weekend. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. The ceremony took place creek side with thick forest all around. The reception site has a dance floor, lighting, bbq pit, bonfire pit, and plenty of room for guests. Brian and Mary (the owners) are very accommodating and make great hosts. Go to bonanzakingresort.com and check it out. I highly recommend this site for a wedding

So, my husband already wrote a review under our screen name, but I really wanted to write one too because it was such an amazing experience. Brian and Mary (resort owners) are GREAT!! We live down in the napa valley and at times I was kicking myself for planning a DIY wedding so far away, but me as well as all of our guests couldn't have been happier. I emailed Brian and Mary probably over 100 times asking random questions because I couldn't just go there since it was almost 6 hours away from where we live. They ALWAYS got back to me promptly, and they are both so personable and inviting

We've stayed here twice so far. Once a few years ago in the Silvertip Cabin and this time in Fawn. It's a nice, quiet, peaceful little resort. Movie night and pancake breakfast are awesome and the owners couldn't be nicer. It's right on the river, you can hear it from the cabins. The only downside is it's kind of far from some of the old historical cities around here. It is pretty close to trinity lake, and there are some nice hiking spots and interesting things around here but if you take a trip to Weaverville is going to be an hour drive through windy mountain roads.

The Bonanza King Resort is a great place to stay and get away from the rat race. We spent four nights at the Bonanza King this summer and it was terrific! Brian and Mary are wonderful hosts and everything was just perfect.

This place, however, may not be for everyone. It is rustic (although clean and comes with your own bed and bath) and at least 1 hour from civilization. There is a country store near by and lots of nature but Weaverville is 45 minute to 1 hour along a very curvey road.

We rented two cabins that came fully stocked with dishes, pots, glasses etc. The swimming hole, creek
