Meyers Lumber was established in 1988 as Meyers Woodworking providing cabinet making services and has been serving the retail lumber market since 2008. At the start, Meyers Woodworking utilized the lumber created in custom cabinets and millwork where also some urban lumber was sold. The experience having been in the custom cabinet field for 35 years has lent itself well in serving and helping other buying the right lumber for the right project.

Services
Meyers Lumber is built upon promoting environmental responsibility and greater awareness of our urban forests. Working in cooperation with city municipalities, arborists, and home owners of the metropolitan area in and around Chicago. The trees and lumber salvaged and reclaimed is defined by the beauty and character of our local hardwoods and create the story of sustainability of our urban forests.
After thee trees have been salvaged they are taken to our mill in Batavia, Illinois where we specialize in creating lumber and one of a kind natural edge slabs. After our logs are milled, they are kiln dried to 7%. The benefit of kiln drying is to minimize movement and stabilize the material and eliminate any bugs or insects that maybe present which in turn gives us a higher quality product.
