Ross began his insurance career as a sales representative for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas in 1980, where he was promoted to Sales Manager of the Lubbock District Office. In 1985, Ross left Blue Cross Blue Shield to become an Independent Broker as Blue Cross had made the decision to work with brokers instead of using their own sales force.
