I cannot say enough good things about Rose. I had the absolute best experiences with her from alterations for a bridesmaid dress to my actual wedding gown. I first went to Rose last year to do my fittings for my wedding. We made it through one before COVID hit. My husband and I decided to actually get married and Rose was more than accommodating. She made sure the dress fit me before my big day (part 1). We did take pictures outside so my dress had gotten a little dirty at the bottom. I purchased my wedding gown at Spark Bridal and they recommended Sewing Creations by Rose and boy am I glad they did. Not only did Rose do a stunning job altering my dress, but I looked forward to every visit with her. I brought my wedding dress here with a recommendation from The Bridal Garden, where I purchased my dress. Due to the odd sizing of Bridal gowns, I ended up being 3 sizes smaller on top than on the bottom. So the waist up needed some serious alterations.
I went in for 3 fittings, including the final. On the second one, she said the bust could be taken in even more. I thought it was comfortable and said we didn't need them, but she persisted.

I have gone to Rose three times now for alterations. I have also referred people to her as well. All three times I have had wonderful experiences. She has done two bridesmaids dresses and my wedding dress. I cannot thank her enough. She is so sweet and pleasant, and she was transparent and fair.

I can't give a review because I was turned away. I arrived at her shop with a lovely formal lace top that I would be wearing to a wedding. I was told she only did bridal and only by appointment. Point taken for the second part. Well her advertising on her website should be altered. It mentions formal wear. I felt like I was standing there with a rag on the hanger. My daughter has worked in bridal on the west coast for several years...not a good practice. D from Narragansett

Rose is super sweet and did such a beautiful job on my bridesmaids dress! I had to buy a size 10 dress and I am a size 2 but that was not a problem. She took in the waist, the sleeves, and length, and even pressed it for me without me asking! It was a quick turnaround time as well. Call her to schedule an appointment for quality work

Rose, was absolutely the best teachers I have ever witnessed. She made my dress fit amazing it made me feel so confident about myself. Rose did the alterations on my wedding dress for our wedding on October 12, 2018, and she did an absolutely fantastic job! The dress I bought was much too large to begin with, and then I lost 25 lbs. before the wedding. None of this phased Rose at all! She took the dress in 3 separate times and did other alterations to make sure that I would look perfect on the big day. The dress looked absolutely wonderful, and I was comfortable for the whole wedding (it was a very long day)! I have been seeing Rose for my alterations since I was recommended by a friend my junior year in high school. Rose has altered all of my school formal dresses, the bridesmaid dresses I have worn in the weddings I've been in, and now my own wedding gown. When I picked out my dress, I couldn't imagine anyone else doing the alterations to prepare me for the big day.

This is most likely the worst business in Rhode Island. After what she did to my dress a few years ago, I feel the need to warn people about her. First of all, her personality is fake. I was nine when this happened, and I'm 16 now, so I couldn't really tell. I look back on it and she is so fake. She doesn't really care about you. She could care less, as long as she gets your money. Rose was supposed to make 3 alterations to my wedding dress, and she ended up missing all 3. She was supposed to sew a hook and eye to my accent belt, but when we pulled it out moments before my ceremony we found there was nothing, only snipped ribbon. (She just forgot.) My mom had to sew it onto me 15 minutes before I walked down the aisle. Then part of my bustle and hem came undone in back. Finally, the bust on my dress was way too big for me; rather than alter the bust line Rose just sewed padded cups in them, which made my bodice look ill-fitting.

Rose was an absolute delight throughout my wedding process. She does amazing work -- but first lets talk about the even more noticeable: her phenomenal personality. From the moment I met her she was all smiles and compliments. Don't worry, not at all in a cheesy way, in a 'I want to be your friend' and 'wow are you going to rock that dress' sort of way. My mother also had two dresses altered here and was very happy with the service, as were a handful of my bridesmaids. As my friend who suggested Rose to me initially said, "she makes you feel like a million bucks every time you're there!" I was recommended to take my wedding gown to Rose by the staff at The Bridal Garden, also in East Greenwich, where I purchased my dress. My three fitting appointments with her were all I could have hoped for - she was clear in explaining pricing, was patient with any concerns and questions, was generally just extremely friendly, and her shop space is extremely clean and open. My biggest concern was the bustle for my gown; she crafted a bustle that was a combination of an under bustle for the gown's satin lining and a multi-point over bustle for the tulle layers. I looked forward to each of our 3 appointments because it was almost like catching up with a friend over coffee. She immediately makes you feel comfortable and really cares about making you feel happy and beautiful in your dress. Rose completely ruined my wedding gown. I had a lace gown that needed to be altered because it was too long. Excitedly, I went to try on my gown after the length had been altered by Rose, only to find that there was a large HEM LINE all the way across the front of my lace gown. The hem line hit right in the middle of my shins and it looked like you could literally detach the bottom of the dress.
It was extremely noticeable and Rose told me that "it was impossible to hem a lace gown like that any other way." Since I am not a seamstress, I took her word, but

Like many previous commenters, I was referred to Rose by another happy customer. Rose is simply lovely to work with and a consummate professional. Her shop is beautiful, spacious and very clean. I highly recommend Rose to anyone who needs alterations done. She did the alterations for my wedding dress and did a wonderful job. I had 3 different fittings and she made sure that the dress fit perfectly. She had to take the top in originally and when I went in for the 2nd time she had to take it in again. The bustle looks wonderful and Rose is great to work with.
My mom and my sister also had their dresses altered by Rose and their dresses look great. She was wonderful to work with and would offer lots of suggestions.
