LB Holistic Tree
Some of our clients call us tree surgeons. We know that each tree is unique. It comes from a specific genus, may be on a particular kind of root stock and lives within specific site conditions and ownership. We attend to the requirements of each tree and client. Some of our clients call us tree doctors.

We use an Integrated Pest Management approach which focuses primarily on building the right conditions for your tree to have its own thriving defense system and the right fungal-dominant infrastructure to beat out pathogens. We like to speak of the soil food web. We help with soil amendments, but we do so on the basis of a test, unless we are simply building general resilience and organic matter.

This is not a basic tree trimming service, this is a certified arborist (tree expert). I had them out for fruit tree pruning and it was clear they knew how to look after the long-term health, fruit production, and beauty of several different varieties of fruit trees. They knew how to prune an apple tree differently than a peach tree, spotted and removed borer pests, and made strategic pruning cuts to shape future growth. I couldn't be happier with the results and it was well worth the money. They were also exactly on time, cleaned up after themselves, gave me advice on how I could care for the

Checked out our five trees; told us how to best prune them and care for them - (don't water at the tree base after established) - and what to plant, or not plant, underneath.

Also recommended organic pest control options and soil amendment.

Love this service!

Do yourself and your trees a favor. Here's someone who actually knows tree culture. Wonderful place and I wouldn't work with anyone else.

We had a Liquid Amber tree we planted in honor of my Dad after he passed. The tree had been losing branches and I was concerned for our neighbors grandkids as the tree was close to their driveway. Ben was great, showed up on time, climbed up the tree to check things out. You can tell he really loves his job and gave me options if I wanted to try and save the tree but was realistic in his assessment as there was beetle intrusion and damage. Ultimately I had the tree removed. I would definitely use Ben again.

I believe it would be hard to find a more thorough and caring arborist!

Ben came and inspected our three stone fruit trees, avocado and citrus. Had recommendations and solutions for our entire back yard - which unfortunately including removing one beetle infested plum tree. His quote was VERY reasonable and completed all the work in a half day - including clean up. We are so impressed with Ben's work that we booked him for next year for a check up! Highly recommend Ben if you have any growth, production or pest issues with your trees!

Ben was exceptional from the initial consultation to the time he completed all his work. We had a fruitless pear tree with Fire Blight and also needed an additional tree pruned. Ben was very thorough with his inspection of our trees. He was up front and honest about our needs and treatment options and was very easy to work with. After completing the work, Ben cleaned up and left our yard and trees looking fantastic! Definitely will use him again in the future and we would recommend Ben to anyone.

Happy to leave this 5 star review for Ben.
Though we did not hire him, because we didn't need to, this feedback is for how he handled my phone inquiry.
He not only returned my call very quickly but advised me over the phone on what best to do given our situation. He listened carefully and was able to advise us over the phone, giving me tips on what to do and what not to do.
In our case, our fruit trees had termites and he gave us different reasons on how this could have happened (which turned out to be excellent education and tipped us off on how to avoid creating the problem to begin with

Ben came to our house in RPV and performed a detailed inspection of the trees at our residence - which were exhibiting signs of ill health. His opinions were informed and worthwhile. I definitely saw results by following his advice.

Ben was professional, knowledgeable and personable when he came to give us a diagnosis on a CA oak tree in our yard. In fact, I'm about to reach out to him again for a quote on fig trimming.

Ben did a great job on pruning the wildly overgrown fig tree last week! It has opened up more light and order into this area of the yard that used to feel messy and stagnant. I'm happy to know that the tree is happier and healthier too, now the branches have better direction and the fruits will have more access to sunlight.
Ben worked meticulously and respectfully in the yard. He was very thorough in cleaning up the space once the pruning was done. This was refreshing compared to experiences I've had in the past where tree-trimmer teams come in and do a speedy, noisy, and messy pruning job that

Our small property of about 1000 sq. ft. has 12 fruit trees and 4 vines. Ben has been working on these trees and vines for the past 3 years, starting with testing the soil, then nourishing the soil as needed, trimming and pruning branches so that the trees remain small and are easy to pick fruit off of, and addressing "bad bugs" and fungus issues. His work really shows that he cares very much about the well-being of the trees and his commitment to using holistic methods. The trees on our property include: fig, Valencia orange, plum, persimmon, tangelo, yerba mate, nectarine, apricot, peach, 2 apple

Ben came out to my property to help improve the health of my Owari satsuma tangerine tree. It hadn't been pruned and was snapping in many places and hanging on the ground. The tree trunk was literally bent over 45 degrees.
I suggested it be propped up but Ben wanted to prune it up to even it out, remove dead wood and split wood first.
To my surprise, the tree stands up completely on its own now! I am beyond thrilled that it can stand on its own and now has been balanced out. He said he even left some growth in there for sunburn protection!
He was clearly focused on the long-term growth and health

Ben and his partner were excellent; they really care about trees. If you have trees that you care about, then LB Holistic is the place to call. Ben is very knowledgeable and can give an assortment of advice about any tree issue that you may have. I had Ben trim and clean up two historic old Pepper trees; probably close to 160 year old trees. The pepper trees look great after their work! They also give me great advice about what to plant and well as tree care.

The experience working with LB Holistic was very pleasant and the results quite excellent. You will be happy with them also.

Ben has been great to work with. We recently purchased a home that had many full grown fruit trees that had clearly been neglected for years. Ben was able to revive an apple tree we were sure was a goner. Everything is in full bloom.
Ben's highly knowledgable and has been a vital resource in educating us on ways to properly care for our trees. We look forward to building a long lasting relationship with Ben that will keep our trees thriving for years to come.

I'm an ISA Certified Arborist (WE-10547-A) and I've worked with Ben from LB Holistic Tree on a handful of landscape projects. I've seen Ben excel at pruning and pest identification, and he has experience working with challenging (and even toxic) soils, using biology rather than chemicals to arrive at solutions. I really appreciate his attitude, always positive and looking for ways to maximize the benefit for his customers.

So many times landscapers hack trees and have no clue about approaching trees as a whole system (roots, shoots, soil, irrigation, pests, pollinators, beneficial
