While some people have a vague perception of what Medicare is, few understand all of the intricacies and how to get the most out of their benefits. Before we get into the various sections or "parts" of Medicare, we want to first acquaint you with some simple facts and the history surrounding the program.
The Turning 65 Advisor works for you to help you find the right Medicare options to fit your needs. We work to find the right option that fits the needs of you and your family, not for greedy sales representatives that represent insurance agencies. Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement options are often the best plan for our clients.
As we discussed on the Medicare Basics page, Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) can leave you with some out-of-pocket expenses, which, depending on your medical condition and treatment plan, can really add up! Medicare Supplement, or "Medigap", adds additional coverage options to your existing Medicare plan and is administered through a private insurance company.
Being insured by Medicare can save you substantially when it comes to taking care of your health. However, Parts A and B do not cover prescription medications that you need in order to maintain your health and wellbeing. The Turning 65 Advisor can help you add a Medicare Part D plan that will help you alleviate the costs of medications.
A: When you first become eligible for Medicare there is a 7-month initial enrollment period. In the 7-month period you can sign up three months before your 65th birthday, on your birthday month, or three months after your birthday month.
A: You become eligible during the first month your 65 and have already enrolled in Medicare Part B. This is a one-time opportunity to get enrolled where you current or preexisting medical conditions will not count against you.If you enroll after this period, then you could be denied coverage due to your medical conditions.
