Our quiet, friendly park is situated on seven acres of lush grass and towering shade trees. Host Mark & Sharon Melvin. We are just a five mile drive west of Antonito Colorado. Antonito is only a 1-1/2 hour drive to Taos, 2-hour drive to Santa Fe New Mexico, and a 3-1/2 hour to Colorado Springs or Durango Colorado.
Our location is the perfect "get-away" to enjoy fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. We are 60 miles from the Great San Dunes National Park, 46 miles from Chama New Mexico and 4.7 miles from the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad Antonito Colorado station. We are a pet friendly community. Our RV park / campground offers a wide open spaces to play and run your dogs or do anything.

We stayed at Mogote for 2 nights because it was close to the train depot for Cumbres Toltec railway. Pictures on website must have been from long ago as the place is now run down and very dumpy. Mosquitoes were terrible. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Only reason I gave even one star is the man that checked us in was nice.

If you're looking for beautiful scenery or you want to be close to nature or you just want literal peace and quiet this is the place. I'll always love Mogote Meadow not just because it was breathtakingly beautiful in that area of Colorado but because the owners were salt of the earth. We had to be in that area for my boyfriend's solar project for a month before campground season opened. The owners were kind enough to allow us to stay there at that time. We lived there for six months until the job was finished and it was a peaceful 6 months. The owners have activities throughout the week. and if

I stayed here one night in a cabin and it was really comfortable. I needed a place just to park myself and rest after a few days camping and hiking in the national parks and this did the trick. It was clean and tidy and even had a little kitchen for cooking. The area is a bit mundane, but I wasn't planning on leaving the cabin. If you're looking for somewhere to base some adventures, I'd maybe go a bit closer to the mountains.

OMG!!! Elk, right outside the cabin windows! We spent an afternoon at Cumbres Adventures snow mobiling and an afternoon cross country skiing on some forest trails! These cabins were perfect! Not in a crazy ski lodge town but close enough (1.5hrs to red river or 2hrs to pagosa springs) if you wanted personal space.
The river was about 30ft from the front door. Snow covered the landscape all around us.
Jim was a fantastic host (I didnt meet the Mrs.). The cabin worked well for the 4 of us. Looking forward to coming some spring/summer to try some fly fishing.

What a great find! We are bikers and loved staying in the newest cabin. Cute, functional, and clean. Owners were great to work with. Enjoyed biking along highway 17 to La Manga Pass. The road with a nice 2 foot shoulder has been resurfaced and the trucks and cars were friendly and moved well clear of us. I know this area is known for hunting and fishing but for you road bikers out there, this is a great weekend bike getaway!
