In 1959, Henry Becker founded Pittsburgh Fire Extinguisher. For nearly three decades, the company exclusively supplied fire extinguisher equipment and services to landmark institutions in the Pittsburgh region. For part of that time, our offices were located in the old Empire Building, which was demolished in 1984 to make way for the new Fifth Avenue Place.
We avoided the impact of that change by relocating to the North Shore in 1979. In the late 80's, Pittsburgh Fire Extinguisher expanded operations to include emergency lighting and fire suppression. After that, the growth continued and fire alarms and sprinkler systems were added to the PFE list of services.

They look to save people money by letting you know if it is worth buying new extinguishers or having the existing ones serviced. They have also explained and demonstrated the reasons as why extinguishers fail inspections and the signs that a new one is needed such as paint bubbling and flaking off. They go above and beyond the state standards for inspections.
