The first Schmidt Custom Floors Inc. was founded in 1968 by Robert & Ruth Schmidt and is still operating today in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

We love working with clients to provide installation services for carpet, tile and hardwood flooring in Loveland, Colorado. This is our hometown and where our showroom is located! Bobcat Natural area, Boyd Lake State Park, Carter Lake Swim beach, Devil's Backbone open space, the Benson Park Sculpture Garden, the Rialto Theater, and all of the amazing restaurants downtown Loveland.
We love working with clients to provide flooring in Windsor, Colorado. Windsor is a beautiful community and Windsor Lake is a popular place to hangout and rent paddleboards, kayaks and enjoy the lovely mountain views. We have worked in the new homes in the impressive Water Valley development along with sanding and finishing older hardwood floors in historic downtown near Walnut, Elm and Oak Street.

I cannot recommend Schmidt Custom Floors. Schmidt did an ok job installing new hard floors in our office, however, the attention to detail is lacking. We thought Schmidt was a premier flooring company and was willing to pay more for better quality and better service, unfortunately, this was a mistake. When I emailed them and called them to discuss the situation I was ignored. Specifically, they left the old caulk on the baseboards and cracked the plaster in one area. If Schmidt doesn’t want to do premier work and avoid such details that is fine, but at least reply to a paying customer’s concerns

Overall, I am happy with my experience with Schmidt Custom Flooring and I would use them again. The job was done on time and the quote was accurate with no surprises. Their customer service is great too. There was a defect in one of the planks that were installed. They had someone out the next day to replace it. They seemed to do a mediocre job of reinstalling the baseboards though. Some other things to be aware of (not necessarily bad just be aware) are that they don’t move appliances and they don’t reconnect toilets.

Barry came through on short notice to quote our refinish/patch job. His company has an impressive portfolio of work, and this was one job I was not willing to take on during my remodel. The red oak floors in my 100 year old house were patched and stained Country White, and a water-based poly with additional white tint was applied. We went from dated, red/yellow flooring to a whitewashed look to match our contemporary kitchen/living room remodel.
Short-term review: I haven’t been on the floors yet, but the new look is exactly what we desired.
