South Georgia Ballet was founded in 1998 and was designed to provide training necessary for a serious dancer. Under the direction of Melissa June, Artistic Director and Outreach Education Director, company dancers are given professional instruction and are exposed to classical repertory.
Company dancers receive further training with regional and national instructors and choreographers including Emily Loftiss, Tyrone Brooks, Suzanne Farrell, and many more.We could not continue to provide excellence in dance training and performance opportunities without the support of our community.

Services
SGB company parents are an invaluable part of the success of SGB. All parents are members of our VIP Parent Volunteer organization once a child is accepted into the Company. We rely on our parent volunteers to perform many tasks and welcome new members to serve on our many active committees. South Georgia Ballet greatly appreciates the army of volunteers who carry out essential duties!
When looking at the schedule, find your day and then look for the color leotard that your dancer wears and then find their class title. Undergarments should NOT be worn under tights. Tights act as undergarments. If wearing a sports bra under a leotard, please make sure that the leotard conceals the straps.
South Georgia Ballet invites everyone to be a part of the ballet. South Georgia Ballet is a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devices, transfers, and gifts. Please help us continue and build upon this strong foundation of artistic excellence.
