This text is provided by The Appraisal Foundation in a publication titled "A Guide to Understanding a Residential Appraisal". The lender orders the appraisal to obtain an accurate description of the property and an independent opinion of value. Very unprofessional and overpriced. Recently had 2 appraisals done and was charged nearly 5000$. For this premium price we were sent an appraiser who has had a license for less than a year who under valued our personal house and over valued the house being purchased. When scheduling these appraisals they said that they wouldn't be able to get us in for several weeks unless we paid more for a rush order. We got a date/time that didn't work for us so I called the office to reschedule and they had 2 other openings within a couple of days. Rush order? When they had multiple openings? After getting
