Wide River grows 10 acres of grapevines specially suited for our Midwest climate. You might not be familiar with the names of these vines, but they are among our favorites for reproducing our signature wines. One of our favorite grapes is Brianna. We grow about 1.5 acres and use it in semi sweet and sweet white wines such as Jury Duty and Harvest Hurrah.

Visit one of the tasting rooms (Clinton, LeClaire, or in the Village of East Davenport). It's a fantastic experience. The wines are cleverly named. Double Jeopardy, Pursuit of Happiness, and So Sue Me Sue are some of my personal favorites.

One of my favorite wineries in the area. I do appreciate how their wine tasting comes with a free wine glass. I enjoy a lot of the wine that they offer and the staff has always been super friendly. The view is also beautiful here. Some wines are very expensive though.

A bit hard to find. However, it is well worth the ride. It's a peaceful place to enjoy some very flavorful wine over looking the Mississippi river.

I really don’t like wine but went home with 6 bottles after doing the wine flight. Very friendly staff. Was not pushy about purchasing bottles of wine. Prices are reasonable. Drive up to the winery was mostly one way but had areas to move over if met another vehicle. View was spectacular. Will return when in the area again.

The tasting room is small and quaint. Didn't realize reservations are recommended at the Clinton site. We do enjoy several of their wines and their charcuterie tray is a nice addition to enjoy with your wine out on the deck.

A pretty drive up a windy road and about 1 mile or a little more of gravel off the highway with views of bluffs, trees and the river. I had a great glass of Cabernet and a really good cheese and meat tray from their outdoor deck overlooking the river. Fun trip there!

It’s off the beaten path, bonus. The deck covered nicely w shade trees is amazing to enjoy outdoors and also enjoy a nice view of the Mississippi. The wine is very good, but the meat and cheese sampler tray is really delicious, highly recommend! The staff are very friendly and welcoming to visitors to enjoy your experience. Highly recommend for a Saturday afternoon getaway.

We visited the Wide River Winery on a bright and sunny late September day and could not have been more pleased with our visit. Everything from the views sitting on the outside deck overlooking the Mississippi river to the wonderful 'not so small plate' of cheese olives and other tasty treats to the wonderful red wine we were captivated by this unique "off the beaten path" attraction. The wine and the food were both reasonably priced. I can't say enough good things about my visit. Experience it yourself.

MY ALL TIME FAVORITE WINERY! I am not a big red wine fan, I prefer white wine but at wide river, I love their sweet red wines!! My favorites are the sweet justice and pursuit of happiness!! They have tastings, a very nice patio section, and a trail that you can take that leads to their field of grapes and bluff trail where they have picnic tables and a beautiful view of the water! Inside they do sell bottles of wine, cheese plates, wine slushees! The bathroom is nice and clean and the staff are so friendly! I always buy a few bottles before leaving - can't wait to be back for more.

This was our second visit to the winery in a weeks time. Can't say enough good things about this place, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The scenery is beautiful, and wine delicious. If you're in Clinton, it's worth stopping by here here at least once.

This is a great spot to try some local wines. The views are spectacular! The winery is on top of the bluff overlooking the river. There is an outdoor deck and a nice bar too. I really enjoyed "Not Guilty" wine. They have three raspberry blends too. I will take some home to enjoy.

Wow wow wow!
Hidden gem- we were driving down the road and saw the sign. Quickly pulled off onto the gravel road to begin our journey. Twists and turns up a winding road in the woods, waiting to see around the bend. Then out of nowhere-a beautiful property. Winery and deck looking over the woods and Mississippi River. Beautiful wood bar and shop with tons to buy. Great staff and wonderful tasting. Chance worth trying. Wide variety of wine to please everyone. Will make this our stop every time we are in the area. Thanks for making us welcome.

Wide River is awesome!!!

Let's start with the wines, playful red and white varietals including blends with grapes grown on site dance on your palette. As a Midwesterner, exploring our regions wine capabilities is always a treat and WR rises above.

Highly decorated and awarded, these wines provide something for every taste.

With 4 Iowa locations for tastings, each visually beautiful, you won't be disappointed. However, if you get the chance to visit the main location in Clinton, it's like drinking wine in a treehouse, beautiful!!!

Plus the staff is always incredibly friendly.

This a great place to spend an hour or two with friends. Wine tastings are 7 dollars and include 5 free samples. The bottles are all reasonably priced. Great place to go for a tasting then get a bottle to enjoy on their beautiful deck. The also have a gorgonzola cheese spread and summer sausage cheese plate which are delicious. Don't let the winding dirt road discourage you. Just keep following the signs.

Wide River is a magical American oasis. You can travel the world and you'd be pressed to find a place or people to match. Not to mention, the wine is quite fine.

Plan a day trip to the winery. A family operation that will make you part of their wine family.

Enjoy the view of the Mississippi River along their lovely river walk along the bluffs- don't forget to bring a glass of Misdemeanor on your walk.

Oh and the wine doesn't give you headaches! And they sell select wines at Sullivan's in Compton near Galina.
