After years of working for other jewelers, Steve Carbonetti, along with his wife Nancy, decided he could provide residents of the Brandywine Valley with higher quality products and services. Thus, Stephen's Jewelers was born. Nearly fifteen years ago, they opened their doors for business on 9th Street in Wilmington.
Until the middle of the twentieth century, there was no agreed-upon standard by which diamonds could be judged. GIA created the first, and now globally accepted standard for describing diamonds: Color, Clarity, Cut, and Carat Weight. Today, the 4Cs of Diamond Quality is the universal method for assessing the quality of any diamond, anywhere in the world.
Birthstones are gemstones that accompany a birth month, each having a unique meaning and historical significance. The popularity of birthstones dates back to ancient times when civilizations believed that gemstones had incredible powers such as luck, health and prosperity. Traditionally, each month is associated with a single gemstone, but as you'll find below there are a few months with multiple birthstones.

Top notch expertise and attention from beginning to end. Starting with the design phase of the engagement ring, special care was shown through each step of the process, and educational at the same time. Every question we had was answered professionally and you are made to feel like family. Their attention to detail continued on through the wedding band phase and we were met again with the highest quality of service. Family run business with love and care shown throughout all of their work, and that love and care is passed along to their clients. 10/10 recommend.

This is so very long overdue, but I cannot begin to express how terrific an experience my fiancé and I had picking out my engagement ring! The staff at Stephen’s could not have been more helpful and kind. We so did not know what we were doing and they made us feel so comfortable. They showed us different options, answering all of our questions, helping us find the perfect diamond and setting within our budget. 11/10 would highly recommend Stephen’s to anyone looking for the engagement ring of their dreams. They certainly helped me find mine!

Cant say enough great things about Stephen, Dana, and associates. I proposed recently and was ring shopping for a very long time. With no particular budget in mind but sure set on stone and type of gold a lot of other jewelers were trying to sell me more of what they had and not what I wanted. I really began to lose hope somewhat and almost caved once or twice. Thankfully I went here on a whim and Dana spent hours with me finding the right design, right gold type, and lastly correct color ruby. The price was right but the service was perfect. Felt more like a family transaction than a business

I pretty rarely leave reviews but the experience I had getting my engagement ring at Stephen’s was exceptional and absolutely deserves every accolade. They genuinely made me feel as though they were excited to make this ring with me. Nancy was so professional, thoughtful, and willing to go above and beyond. Fairly certain I need to invite her to my wedding now, the ring is stunning.

Stephen made me a beautiful custom wedding band to fit with my engagement ring! Stephens Jewelers is the #1 place to go for all your jewelry needs. Repairs are fantastic and economical. Have bought stuff elsewhere and Stephen spotted the cheap craftsmenship and cut corners right away. Almost to the point he could tell where I bought it from. He and his staff are fantastic and will help you no matter if you know exactly what you want or have no clue. They are very patient and have wonderful suggestions. The only place I buy anything from!
