Services
Pain management physicians offer many modalities to accommodate your individual plan of care. Interventional therapies for acute and chronic pain conditions as part of the comprehensive treatment program are most common. Many interventional pain procedures are available on an outpatient basis, which is vital to ensuring cost-effective access to care.
Many chronic pain conditions are caused by inflammation, dysfunctional nerves, disease, or fractures. Common complaints of chronic pain can be the result of injury or failed recovery and over time, the condition often becomes worse without an immediate plan of care. If you are suffering from chronic pain, you need to be well informed about your condition in order to understand proper recovery and to experience optimal relief.
Spinal stenosis refers to the narrowing of the spinal canal due to bone spurs, herniated discs, thickened ligaments, tumors, or injury, causing swelling and inflammation in the tissues surrounding the spinal canal. Degenerative changes usually occur in elderly patients, while younger patients may have spinal stenosis due to trauma or spinal deformities like scoliosis (which affects bone and muscle development in the body).
A herniated disc is formed when the tough, fibrous outer covering of an intervertebral disc becomes weak and tears causing the soft tissue in the center to be pushed outwards through the tear due to pressure from the vertebrae above and below the disc, resulting in a slipped or ruptured disc. The disc protrusion presses on the surrounding nerves and soft tissue, causing pain.
The facet joints are hinge-like joints that link vertebrae together to form the spine, providing stability, support as well as mobility to the spine, allowing bending, extension, and twisting motions. These joints have cartilage tissue that acts as buffers between two bony surfaces.

Injury to the facet joints causes facet joint pain, which leads to muscle weakness, tingling numbness, muscle pain, spasms, radiating pain, and joint stiffness in the neck or back, depending on the location of the injury along the spine.

2 days after a procedure I did a urinalysis that came back with fentanyl and verced. I didn't take anything but ironically they injected these exact drugs during the procedure I had. Dr. Moghol said that they wouldn't be in my system. REALLY?!? I had no idea what verced even was until they accused me of taking it, they wouldn't even entertain the thought. He's a punk that plays with patients meds, he has this power like he's God....sorry, you'll forever be pathetic.

Worst care i've ever received from a physician. i suffer from multiple rare chronic illnesses and experience great amounts of pain every single day. last november i had a celiac plexus block with Dr. Brandon Stokey. i expressed to him that i had a celiac plexus block done before and it didn't work for my pain at all and that i no longer had a celiac ganglion nerve bundle from a previous major surgery i had. he proceeded to tell me that i should have it done anyway so i did because physicians know better than we do right? (lol) i ended up having an aneurysm in my celiac artery shortly after he did

My experience was not great at all. In the beginning things were smooth, met someone named Patricia. She was so nice and listened to everything I said but after that first time everything went down hill fast.
Was told that someone would call me to schedule an appointment but nothing happened, waited 1 week. The following week I called and said I was calling to schedule an appointment but the lady on the phone said that's not how things work. I explained to her that I already had my 1st interview and was told someone would call but never did so I was calling. She seemed confused and put me on hold

Do not go here if you are in pain! They treat patients like cattle. They don't care at all. I was left stranded in pain for THREE days all the while I had a legal prescription ready to be filled THREE days ago and pharmacy wouldn't fill because a prior authorization was needed by my insurance company-happens once a year. The pain clinic has a specific employee that does prior auths only. Have left SEVEN voice mails for her over the last THREE days and no return phone call. All the while NO pain medication that I take for a crushed pelvis, back, femur, and foot. Do they care? NO! Last

This place had been life changing for me, between the doctor, NP and physical therapist my life has improved drastically!! I have done cupping at physical therapy and I am getting the internal spinal stimulator surgery done later this month. My pain for the last 15 years has been a 7/8 and now because of treatment plan put into place it’s now a livable 3/4! I can’t thank them enough, the staff is always warm and wonderful, I can’t recommend them enough.

Dr Schwarz is excellent. very knowledgeable. he does require you to follow his orders to get the best treatment you need based on his evaluation. point blank, medication alone does not fix our pain or health issues. you may have to wait a tad bit longer than usual but worth the wait. then again some days much quicker than usual.

Dr. Escobar and Sandi CNP are amazing. They listen to you, they discuss my treatment plan with me and I never feel rushed. I also have PT services and have had great success with many issues. I suffered an incredibly painful case of plantar fascistic and Matt was able to fix me up before my vacation just as he said he would. Comprehensive Centers for Pain Management is the best in town.

Okay, after reading some of the reviews, I thought I would offer positive feedback and counter a few misperceptions.
First, the staff that I have all dealt with are extremely friendly and helpful. They engage in small talk and seem to genuinely care about their patients. The first time I met doctor Gao, he shook my hand, discussed my issues, and had obviously looked at my charts to see what my issues were.
Wait time in the lobby is usually not bad, certainly less than at my primary care physician. Usually once I am in my room and the nurse does her thing and leaves, Dr. Gao is in the room within

My 89 year old husband got two injections. I had said as long as insurance covered them was ok. Doc said they would only schedule if insurance covered. Oh sure it covered the shot, but no one said anything about a facility fee. No even mentioned the first shot as they didn't know??? $200 each time tried to cancel then as doctor was 1 1/2 hours behind, oh no, if you do that it's a $200.00 cancellation fee. WHAT? They are rip off artists. My husband sat in a hospital gown freezing for over an hour. I did not know until after. He asked for a blanket and never got one.

I am 30 years old and have a significant slipped disk in my lower back. I previously was seen by a pain management doctor before moving to Toledo at that time I switched to Dr. Hefzy. In the six months I have been with Dr. Hefzy, I have been ignored, lied to, miscommunicated with, mistreated, etc. Their physical therapy department is a joke, I was only once seen by the PT Doctor, the rest of time was spent alone with no direction or with the staff that didn't like upper management & was vocal about disliking scheduling... again little direction. During my brief appointments with Dr. Hefzy

I've been seeing Lisa the nurse practitioner for about 7 years here n she is just wonderful! She gets me into the appointment quickly n gets through it as fast as possible yet if i need to ask anything, she takes the time to answer my question thoroughly. I love their new office on Meijer drive. BUT THE FLO PHYSICAL THERAPY WAS A TOTAL JOKE!!! Flo physical therapy sounded wonderful through their website but was the total opposite! Some guy just points to a wooden chair n rubber band n tells u to pull on it till he gets back (from talking with his co workers for 25 minutes)!
